Band Members: RON BASSETTI’ve been on stage since I was four years old. I got cheers at the County Center after my performance of Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. When I was seven, my father thought he found some drinking money. He would take me to all of his watering holes, put me on stage and pass the hat. (I’m always getting screwed out of Royalties.) Back than I sang old Jazz songs and Al Jolson stuff. I was invited to sing at a Policeman’s ball and got a standing O. So, at seven, I knew what I wanted to do with my life. I started a local band at thirteen and looking older than I was, I was doing small clubs. In 1974, I toured the country with a show band called New York Central. Our agency was out of Dallas and we worked six nights a week. In 1976, I formed a local band and worked steady in the New York area. (First marriage failed.) While working at a local club in New York, I was approached by an agent who asked me to open for an oldies show at The Westchester Premier Theater. I got three standing O’s and was approached by “The Crests†(I’m still working with the originator of the band.) About three years into it, I was offered a record deal with Permium Records. I recorded an album in Nashville and was promoted by Pete Bennett. (Promoter of the Beatles and Rolling Stones.) Well I guess they needed a tax write off and I was it. (Second Marriage failed.) In 1994, Stranger and All Over You were released on Country Breeze Records. The songs were charting overseas, things were going well and than the owner of the label died and there was no distribution. (Ohh, by the way, Third marriage failed. Lost another house.) I still do shows with JT Carter. Just concerts. No four shows a night stuff anymore and I’m still writing songs. (NO….No more wives, No more money and no more houses.) I live in a small town in Westchester NY, on the river and spend my time writing, playing music and thinking of what the hell happened over the last 45 years.
