About Me

Jo is a Kiwi singer/songwriter. She likes to "put my money where my mouth is, literally!!"Jo has personally produced three fundraising cd's to date, raising funds for Guide Dog Services/The Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind,South Auckland Health Foundation based at Middlemore Hospital, Auckland and Kidney Society Auckland. The title track to her song entitled Born To Be Loved features a verse written/spoken in Maori by Bernard Te Paa and also stars children from Papatoetoe Intermediate School choral group who provide beautiful backing vocals.Jo says, "Children were 'born to be loved', no matter what they do, or where they go in their lives, from an observers point of view I wanted to celebrate the immense power and feelings of love I have seen friends and family experience when their wee darling enters their world!".! If after listening to the title track you don't go and hug your child, your niece or nephew.... I'd be pretty surprised!!!Jo's philanthropic projects have been influenced by her professional career as a Fundraising Manager. She is committed to helping raise funds for worthy causes she feels an empathy for.Currently Jo is working on new songs, one of her latest Man in the Moon is a dedication to her beloved late sister-in-law Ann Davidson who passed away due to a short but brave struggle with cancer. Jo's musical influences are wide and varied, "I love all music, as long as it has a great beat and great lyrics, I'm interested! I particularly love modern country, 70's,80's music, rock and even classical..in fact there are too many genres to mention!!"I love writing new songs, seeing them form, layer by layer, and coming to life is such a buzz and each 'project' is a labour of love". At present she is working in Fundraising for a local Hospice and is looking forward to 'doing something musical there to raise funds". On another note, Jo suggests that you might like to purchase a Kidney Society Auckland SUMMER FUSION CD. It's a 17 track cd, an eclectic mix of many music genres and is jam packed with beautiful music from original Kiwi artists. All net proceeds will support the Kidney Society Auckland who 'walk alongside people' with kidney failure and their families in Auckland & Northland, 'helping them to get on with life.' A further message from Jo..."I love quotes, in fact I'm a little obsessed with them! Here is one of my favourites by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827)  "I wish you music to help you with the burdens of life and to help you release your happiness to others".Peace, love and happiness to you and all you love, Jo.
