Band Members: The members of Hemållt are:________________________________________________________ ___________________Christer Ådin – mandola, mandolin, melodeon and Jew’s harp. Musician and instrument builder, Christer often chooses unconventional musical pathways. He is a musician with a sharp and sensitive ear who sees his role as contributing the weft to the warp of the tune. On the mandola or the mandolin, he weaves with subtle melodies, counter-melodies and accompaniment. But sometimes he takes to the melodeon to supplement the fiddle melody, adding a Celtic dimension to the folk music of Bohuslän. Mia has been playing music since her childhood and has performed live for over three decades. One of the foremost string players in Bohuslän’s folk music, Mia’s fiddle playing is characterized by loads of drive, passion and energy. She nourishes her strong interest in old traditions by listening to and recording the music of the few remaining bearers of local traditional music. In doing so, she herself assumes a place in their ranks, thus ensuring that these traditions live on. ____________________________________________________________ ______________Anders Ådin - guitar, hurdy-gurdy and vocals. Anders is one of the few professional hurdy-gurdy players in Sweden and he sets no limits for what one can do with this instrument. One might almost assume that the hurdy-gurdy had always been an obvious part of the local folk music tradition. Anders guitar playing alternates between Nordic finger-picking techniques and rhythmic polska accompaniment. Personality and feeling are central elements in his vocals. Anders, who is also educated as a music teacher, always has a bunch of different projects on the go.
