About Me

My name is James Allen and I grew up in Northern California when there was lot’s of open space and backyards were larger than the houses. We actually did drink from a garden hose, had a house with led base paint, we did play in the street, we did work hard playin sports and we did lie on the roof to get a tan. We spent a lot of time in the country when I was a kid listening to all sorts of country and rock music. There wasn’t much to do except ride bikes, horses and work. Like many other kids, I was an only Child and grew up with one Parent. My Mom worked very hard to provide a great life for us and she did that very well. I was very close to my Grandparents and Family growing up and still am. Family and Friends are the most important thing to me and always will be. Music has always been part of my life. Growing up my Family had jam bands and pickin parties at the house all the time, I never paid much attention, but I always sang along. When I was about fifteen I started playing guitar with my best friends Dad’s band called Gold Country. The first song I learned on the guitar was Alan Jackson’s “Chasin That Neon Rainbow”, I was hooked. From there it was playing every weekend at some party or sitting in with the band. When I was 22 I started singing every week and people started to take notice of my voice. Well, that turned into a full time vocalist position with several local bands. I moved to Nashville for a while and was blown away at the talent there and always knew I wanted to be a part of the country music scene. I made a great decision to move to Austin, TX for a year and found an even bigger love for country music as a whole. I returned to California and I am glad I did as my Mom’s health was failing. She passed away in 2007 and from that moment I knew what I was going to do... I am a vocalist, songwriter and entertainer who knows that God’s grace is what makes me who I am and I will never take that for granted. Music is in my blood and it is a passion that will never go away and when you hear my songs and see a James Allen show you will feel the power in the heart felt ballads that truly come from the heart. I look forward to seeing everyone on the road and may all your dreams come true. NEVER BE AFRAID TO FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS………. James
