“For thousands of years, men and women of every age, race, and culture have sought to understand the meaning of life. The people of our own time are no different. Throughout history; scientist, philosophers, theologians, artist, politicians, social activists, monks, sages, and men/women from all walks of life, have discussed and debated many questions in the quest to discover the meaning of life. While their discussions have been many and varied, to my mind all of humanity searching for knowledge & answers, can be arranged under five headings, each of them a question:
1) Who am I ?
2) Where did I come from ?
3) What am I here for ?
4) How do I do it ?
5) Where am I going ?
-All Religious text are centered upon and seek to illumine these 5 questions. They are the questions that testify to humanities’ age old search for the meaning and purpose of Life. They are the questions that hungry hearts place at the center of their lives.
Each of us seek to answer these questions in our own way; experience is an excellent, (although sometimes brutal), teacher. Yet at the same time, it is only the ignorance of youth that believes experience is the only teacher. As we grow Wiser, we realize Life is too short, to learn all of it’s experiences through personal experience; and we discover other people, places, and times are all too willing to pass on the hard earned wisdom of their experiences. Where should we begin?
It has been my experience that nothing changes a person’s life more than one solitary truth; there is purpose and meaning to life.†-Matthew Kelley (The Rhythm of Life)
-----------------------------------------------------With Matthew Kelley’s above quote, I would like to welcome each of you to Alliance and invite you to check out what we're doing at ALLIANCE100.com. **I can not emphasize enough that this life if only an eye-blink; and it would be a shame to get too wrapped up in this life and the sins therein, and by so doing, rob ourselves of our eternity with God… *and let us not forget that we are instructed to tell others of what we know and "spread the Gospels to all"; this is our duty and blessing as Christians.
I would definitely rather live my life as if there is a Christ,
and die to find out there isn't,
than live my life as if there isn't,
and die to find out there is.
