About Me

She was Christened the first time Princess Saulas, a daughter of the Jamaican soil and the second time as Princess Thundah, a Prophetess raining down brimstone and fire on all who “Nah deal wid clean livity and righteousness”. Her musical journey started nineteen years ago one December morning in her mothers womb but started to bloom in her teenage years when she would start to channel extraordinary amounts of inborn talent by performing on stage shows in an around Portmore, St Catherine, a suburb some five miles outside of Kingston. She later immigrated to the United States and came to settle in the biggest of the big cities, New York…. but the musical quest never lagged far behind. Moving quickly she hooked up with a group of guys from Guyana and started to front their band called Dinesty. Adding to her experience was also lead vocals for two other groups The Ninja Band and The Untouchables. In order to thaw the cold New York winters Thunda was also recording for various producers and performing three nights a week in clubs. Working with the groups also started to bear fruit in the form of tours to Canada, the Caribbean and different parts of the U.S. It was also around this period that she made a noteworthy appearance on the Legendary ”Showtime At The Apollo”. In the fall of 2005 a rabid fan and friend of the budding star named Damian, took her to Philadelphia to meet two men he had heard about, Patrick ‘Guitsie’ Dunn (guitarist) and Roger Grant. The two experienced Producers run the ‘Mello G Sound Lab’ studios ( Guitsie along with some stawart musicians like Lance Gamble on keyboards ,Pablo Fakhourie and Bassiedee on bass playing on some of the tracks) was eager to hear some new talent. The audition turned out to be somewhat of a near religious experience with goose bumps breaking out all over the room. The vibe escalated into an open music fare and became a full-fledged recording session. The single “Life Cant Done Ya” was done that same evening. This meeting also led to a tight relationship between the artist and the producers and Thunda’s first album titled “Life Cant Done” is almost completed and getting ready to hit the world. The 14 track offering is packing power for the self-styled Thundah …fire mumma with fire tracks, love tunes and a bit of “Passa-Passa” and will be released under the Organic Records/Mello G moniker. The Thundah at times has been compared to Tanya Stephens and Queen Ifrica. But the rising star is not content on comparisons because she is going places. Yes, Princess Thundah is heading for stardom and she has the talent to back it up. So Tanya and company, make room because the Thundah will be rolling through very.....very soon!Bless.
