REGULAR JOHN ANNOUNCE TOUR DATES FOR DEBUT ALBUM
PRESENTED BY TRIPLE J

TRIPLE J - Feature Album of the Week
1 most played artist on Triple J - 8th May 2009
PBS Drive Album of the Week - 8th May 2009
Language and Abattoir Noir - high rotation Triple J, 2009
The Sydney foursome’s debut album, The Peaceful Atom Is A Bomb - which Rolling Stone magazine has already dubbed “the perfect distillation of everything good that’s happened since rock found a heavy, fuzzy imagination in the late Sixties” – is the culmination of two intense years of hard living, hard partying and – more than anything – f*cking hard work.
Along the way, Regular John shared stages with a spectrum of artists that definitely reflects their own diversity – The Bronx, The Hard-Ons, The Scare, Birds Of Tokyo, Helmet, Dinosaur Jr., Louis XIV, You Am I, The Datsuns, Nashville Pussy, The Mint Chicks. As Goman explains, “We don’t really fit in with a particular scene or sound, which means that we can play to all sorts of different people. That’s definitely a virtue.”
On May 1st, The Peaceful Atom Is A Bomb was heard screaming through the airwaves of Youth Network TRIPLE J when it was awarded Album Of The Week! Both preceding singles, Language and Abbatoir Noir also found a place on the Triple J playlists, as had all their previous releases.
"Armed with boundless energy, killer hooks, singable choruses and variety up the wazoo, Regular John stamp themselves as one of the most exciting young bands on the face of the planet" BLUNT MAGAZINE
Joining Regular John for their national tour are Sydney band TALONS armed with a debut album ready to be released on Rice Is Nice on May 30th. Talons emerge with a more mature and focused long player; a bomb-blast of energy that serves as a blueprint for their recent excursions into more melodic and adventurous territory. “It's raw stuff, and gloriously so….[Talons] could well end up fostering quite a deservedly wide fan base, despite their brutally noisy tendencies.” DB MAGAZINE
Make no mistake - this is rock ‘n’ roll, delivered with the same fuck-the-man spirit that Iggy Pop and the Asheton brothers summoned in Detroit all those years ago! See it live throughout June and July;

COG - BETWEEN OCEANS TOUR
With special guests
Oceansize and Calling All Cars
While their latest record Sharing Space is working hard for them in Europe and the UK, gaining rave reviews from music press and fans alike, the Cog boys have been busily putting the finishing touches on their national Between Oceans Tour May / June 2009.
Cog’s powerful live shows have been wowing fans for the past few years, earning them spots on the country’s biggest festivals, including the recent Big Day Out Tour, and leaving a trail of sold out venues in their wake. The Between Oceans Tour will be the band’s last round before they take time out to pull together material for their third LP.
“Out of the six times I have had the privilege of seeing Cog, this was by far the best. A major reason for that, of course, is the injection of fresh material provided by Sharing Space. Just as the trio assured me, new songs were deftly mixed with old to capitalise on the ability for juxtaposition…and, consequently, maximise the intensity. Elements of primal groove, technical precision, brooding anger and bold affirmation were perfectly intertwined, meaning that the novelty never faltered and a refreshing change of pace was always around the corner. ‘Heartfelt’ is definitely the key word, too, with every nuance of the band’s body language speaking volumes about the passion that the Sharing Space material, both for its sparkling new-ness and its message-driven fervour, has given them.” Beat Magazine
Cog are thrilled to announce Manchester’s kings of post-metal, Oceansize will make their maiden voyage to Australia to join them for this run.
When Oceansize christened themselves back at the start of the third millennium, they didn’t just pick a name, they set themselves a challenge. Their mission statement was to make the biggest music possible, adventures on the high seas of future-rock giganticism that could never, ever stop.
The band’s third LP, ‘Frames’ glows with bone-crushing experimentation; mixing ultimate warrior wrestling music with beautiful classical flourishes. Oceansize always weave magic out of unfamiliar time signatures, on their latest LP, they have so many of them going on at the same time that they say the album is, at times, “the sound of a band ignoring itself.” Evidenced on the lurching ‘Savant’, the ravenous ‘Only Twin’ and the climactic ‘The Frame’, every single player goes on their own journey, making up a deeply intricate whole.
Melbourne three piece Calling All Cars will join Cog and Oceansize to open. One of Triple J’s Next Crop Artists, they will use the Cog tour to release ‘Disconnect ‘ the first single off their debut album due later in 2009.
Sharing Space in store now through Difrnt Music.

“LANGUAGE” AVAILABLE NOW ON iTUNES & 7” VINYL
'Language' is a punk rock anthem in the finest tradition conjuring the attitude of the Sex Pistols with the intelligence of The Clash and Dead Kennedys. Like all good rock music it sticks it's middle finger firmly to the man, taking a stab at the greed ridden corporate world and bullshitting politicians that have molested the future of our youth.
With the current state of rock groups seemingly content to whinge about the woes of emo land, fly on white unicorns through retro rock world or resurrect what should have been left dead in the 80's Regular John are bravely doing their own thing, their own way. With no gimmicks, no bullshit and a refreshing honesty and passion that you know you haven't seen for a long, long time.

COG FEATURE TWICE IN TRIPLE J HOTTEST 100
Congratulations to Cog who had two of their songs included in the Triple J Hottest 100. ‘Bird of Feather’ came in at number 31 whilst ‘Are You Interested’ took the 97th position.
Don’t forget that you can still purchase the Big Day Out Special Edition of Sharing Space through Difrnt Music.
SHARING SPACE TOUR SPECIAL EDITION
With the Big Day Out tour only weeks away, Cog want to celebrate their spot on one of the biggest live shows in the country. How? By giving everyone the chance to experience them live, even those who sadly missed the BDO ticket boat.
You may remember back in April the Cog boys jumped a plane to a little town in WA called Collie, to headline the Triple J One Night Stand. 15,000 people turned up to that show, and the wonderful folk at Triple J captured every note played. On January 17th 2009 they will release a Big Day Out Special Edition of Sharing Space with an extra disc of the live set from Collie. Recorded by Triple J geniuses, Cameron McCauley and Greg Wales, mixed by Greg Wales and mastered by Adam McElnea at Sonamax.
Bonus Disc Track Listing:
1. Bird Of Feather
2. Resonate
3. Are You Interested?
4. The Spine
5. Sharing Space
6. Swamp
7. What If?
8. My Enemy
Cog’s new film clip for the current single Are You Interested has been added to MTV, Channel V, Rage and Bigpond Music to date with more to come. Last week the band wrapped up a stellar year by taking out the gongs for the APRA Songwriter Award and Best Rock Group at the 2008 Music Oz Awards in Sydney.
