Christer Brodén has a solid education as a guitarist and long experience of teaching, recording and giving concerts. His teachers in Sweden were the wellknown guitarists Christer Hellqvist and Gunnar Lif. For the latter, Brodén also studied the vihuela. In Alicante, Spain, he took guitar lessons for profesor José Tomás.
Since 1986, he combines teaching the classic guitar with giving concerts, mainly in the Scandinavian countries, but also in Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Germany and Hungary. Christer is guitar teacher at the folk high school in Ljungskile and the upper secondary school Karlberg in Åmål.
He has made recordings for the Swedish Radio as well as for the Spanish Radio and the BBC.
Since 1987, Brodén and Christer Hellqvist are in charge of the Vadstena gitarrakademi.
Close cooperation with the composers Kurt Wiklander and Sven Ahlin has led to various works for guitar solo, guitar/piano, guitar/choir, vihuela/string orchestra, guitar/string quartet.
