About Me

Been over a year since I updated this, so here goes...Um...hello. My name is Andy, I am 25 years old. I am now back living in my hometown, Lichfield AKA Lichvegas AKA The Field Of The Dead. I love it there. Is nice.I like to chill with my friends, they are very important to me. I like to drink too much, mostly in Lichfield (if only the Paradise Lounge had loyalty cards) but I am fully down for random missions and road trips to odd places for a change of scenery. I like nothing better than to travel and see friends who have moved/live in other towns/countries. Hello to you all...My main interest is music I would say, I spend a hell of a lot of time buying records and listening to them (when I have the cash!). I love hiphop music. I am also really into listening to good songwriters and beatmakers from different genres of music, I especially like acoustic stuff and downtempo, chilled stuff. But I will listen to a lot of stuff. I love seeing live music, and try to catch as many gigs as I can.Another big part of my life is rollerblading, though I don't do it much any more. I have the knees of a 70 year old. I love the fact that, whilst most people I knew at school/6th form were just doing the same stuff in my town all the time, I was off missioning it and skating random places with random people. A lot of the coolest people I know, best places I have been to and funnest times I have had over the past 12 years or so have been through rolling - and I think it has made me the person I am today more than anything else that has happened so far in my short (yeah that was a height reference) life.Oh I have also, in the past year, gone on a bit of a health kick and started running lots. I tried to enter the London Marathon for 07 but didn't get in. I have, however, fallen off this quite badly over Christmas and am going drinking LOTS at the mo, and not running. But I will get back on it soon...

My Interests

I like to hunt for records, and spend cash I haven't got on them. I like to listen to music. I like to go and check out DJ's/emcees/bands live. I like to drink and smoke. I like cooking, especially bbqs! I like to skate, when my legs/laziness allows it. I like driving my car, whilst singing badly. I like travelling (going to Iceland soon, fuck yeah!).

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who is cool...other musical people especially...

Music:

I mostly listen to and deejay (I use the term EXTREMELY loosely as I have just started) hip hop. Equal mix of stuff from the UK and US, I take a lot of pride in the fact that I am British and I can support a healthy hip hop scene here. Too many artists to name, but people I am listening to a lot at the moment are Ghost, Kashmere, Verb T, Harry Love, Yungun, Doc Brown, Lowkey, Cappo (you get the idea if you know these guys). On the US side of things, people like Madlib, J-Dilla (RIP), Common, Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Ghostface, I could go on for ages. Some of my favourite pieces of wax right now are pictured in the background here... I am also liking Sia, Tina Dico, Emiliana Torrini, Sarah Blasko and people of that style...and stuff like Zero 7, Portishead, Massive Attack...and bands like The Rakes (BIG UP TO THE RAKES!). And of course I listen to Sublime!!!

Movies:

Not a big movie watcher (in fact it is laughable just how many movies I REALLY should have seen that I just haven't...) but I really take inspiration from Freddy Got Fingered! I am a fan of Kevin Smith, so I like Dogma, Mallrats, Jay and Silent Bob etc. Requiem for a Dream is good. Also like the Tarrantino films. Oh The Virgin Suicides is good, as is Happy Gilmore.

Television:

I like trashy TV, like The OC, One Tree Hill and stuff. I loved the last series of Six Feet Under. Really feeling the Sopranos. Mostly watch things to kill time though. RENO 911 is the shit! Oh and Dave Chapelle. I love watching good stand-up comedians...NEIGHBOURS when I can catch it.

Books:

I have just finished White Teeth by Zadie Smith, it was cool...I should read more.

Heroes:

'Hero' is a strong word, I have met/am friends with a few people who are amazing at what they do...when it comes down to it they are just people...errr Hugh Hefner haha! And Tony Soprano...
