About Me

my name is heather lynn rodriguez. i am 19 years old. i am a bass player of 7 years. i love to play it really doesnt matter what it happens to be. i play punk,classic rock,classical,hard rock,alternative,80's rock,country,heavy metal,and slowly working on funk. i spend most of my day playing and running over scales as well as learning new and exciting songs. i started playing the bass when i was 13 years old. it was a werid how most kids were discovering the opposite sex i was trying to learn riff by riff of my favorite bands. after a while i caught on.the feeling of learning the first song was like a feeling that i could never explain. from that moment on i go hooked and after awhile i spend all of my time just trying to learn asmuch as could. but the thing that really got me so excited was when i could play metallica's enter sandman. i started to get into jhon5,steve vai,ywgine, and that really just opened everything i known at that point was never the same. i just pushed and pushed and trying to see what the next thing. as a child i grew up on alot of older rock, no pop stars at all for me. it was a huge inmpact that did to me. i grew up with my father who was a guitarist and taught me about how music works. my mother was a musician as well but she was a bass player and growing up the way i did i learn to appeciate all music, i was exposed to alot of great bands through out my childhood everything from jimi hendrix to aerosmith to nirvana and everything between. i know alot of people dont want to learn how to read sheet music but its a great tool to know. because not everything is in tab form all the time but learning by ear is reat as well. i am very happy that i am abole to do all of those. i am very happy that i have the experience of playing the cello for 10 years. in that time i learn how things work and how each instrument complances the next. as far as influences go its jhon 5 Aerosmith Metallica Iron Maiden Rob Zombie Megadeth Alice Cooper Apocalyptica Avenged Sevenfold Dragonforce Motorhead those are a short list of bands that really inspired me from the beganing.
