About Me

Just ask around, those who know me will fill you in...

My Interests

Listening to music, going to shows, reading novels, small town living, learning to crochet, watching independent and foreign films and documentaries, traveling, people watching, baking, trying new recipes, growing things I can eat, thrift store shopping, interior decorating, making grandiose plans for my future...

I'd like to meet:

Sincere, intelligent people with a sense of humor, who share my interests. If they happened to be well connected in the music industry, all the better. Also, a personal assistant who is wiling to work for free

Music:

Too extensive to really go into, but what's here's what's been in my CD player recently: Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Decemberists, Amy Winehouse, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Neko Case, Deerhoof, Nellie McKay, R L Burnside, Be Good Tanyas, The Red Stick Ramblers, Beirut, Dixie Chicks, Beck, Modest Mouse, Old Crow Medicine Show, Bruce Springsteen, The Ditty Bops, and The Shins. Unconditional love for The Hackensaw Boys. I'm always on the lookout for new stuff, so suggestions are much appreciated.

Movies:

Quirky, independent releases, foreign films, dark comedies, and documentaries. My all time favorite movie is Harold and Maude. I recently saw Volver. It was amazing!

Television:

Thursday night is Grey's Anatomy and Men in Trees. Everyone needs a little guilty pleasure. Otherwise I don't do a whole lot of TV watching. People watching is far more entertaining. I really enjoy listening to This American Life on NPR.

Books:

My favorite novel is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. These days I am rekindling my love affair with Southern authors. At the moment, I am reading Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides and Communion by Bell Hooks.

Heroes:

Patsy Cline, Hildegard Von Bingen, and recently my Dad.
