Eighteen year old saxophonist Matthew Halpin is seen as an exciting prospect in Irish jazz. A classically trained jazz musician, he has performed alongside many highly aclaimed players. He has also studied with Billy Harper, Branford Marsalis, Jamie Oehlers among many others. Matthew’s collaberations range vaguely from small to larger groups, recently including the RTÉ National Concert Orchestra. He has been awarded scholarships for the past five years to the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin.
