I am here for Dating and Friends

About Me

i am sickly sweet, but also incredibly raunchy. i am frequently shy in large groups of people. i want my children to have super powers. i am easily smitten. i adore animals more than people. i passionately believe that love is stronger than hate. i am trying to embrace the fact that i am getting older and to realizing that older can mean better. i have a penchant for men with unusual facial hair and dream about playing the drums. i stutter when i am nervous and giggle at thee most inappropriate times.

My Interests

valiant efforts, crooked smiles, bedhead, cashmere socks, illusions, sleeping together, loosely woven fabric, vintage hankies, photos booth pictures, dimly lit dance parties, awkward silences in big rooms, rhyming dictionaries story telling, red wine, dark chocolate, lemon sorbet and making you laugh so hard that whatever your drinking will squirt out your nose

I'd like to meet:

i just want to meet someone that can teach me to rollerskate backwards. is that too much to ask?

Music:

godspeed you black emperor, explosions in the sky, the magic numbers, my morning jacket, pablo, the high strung, autoour de lucie, brad, grand tone music, joseph arthur, the go! team, the pigeon detectives, feist, ibrahim ferrer, low, johnny boy, morningwood, yeah yeah yeahs and kronos quartet.

Movies:

pan's labyrinth, drum line, stomp the yard, the shining, perfume, virgin suicides.

Television:

i love tv and i don't get those people that don't say they never watch it when you know the minute there alone it's the first thing they run to. we recently got cable and that's slowly been the demise of all my relationships. showtime rules! dexter and weeds. national geographic channel, travel channel, animal planet and IFC. i'm a sucker for extreme makeover, home edition. what can i say i have a weak spot. desperate housewives, ugly betty, top chef, i tend to end up on cooking shows because i am hoping that something will rub off on me one day.

Books:

haruki murakami is incredible. my favorite book by him is the wind up bird chronicle, but i've read almost everything he's written so far. i have this really bad habit of starting new books, reading half way through them and then i set them aside because i can't bare for them to come to an end. so i now have all these partly read books lying sweetly suspended in time just waiting for me to come back and visit them again.

Heroes:

she's just this little tiny lady, almost seventy years old, she country line dances, volunteers at a senior center, has a freckle in her left eye that matches mine, she likes to be called mitzy, but i like to call her mom

My Blog

i've been here, but i've been hiding

i have surrounded myself with the most amazing women everthey intrigue methey inspire methey make me laugh, sometimes cry and today i find myself incredibly thankful.
