In 1999, DurtySol was formed and established on the campus of North Carolina Central University in Raleigh-Durham North Carolina. Shortly, after the formation of the group, in mid 2000 through 2003 DurtySol began playing behind Dana Williams, also known as Yahzarah (a vocalist out of the D.C. area, who also attended NCCU. The band consists of eight members; four vocalist and four musicians. Shortly after the formation of the group, they began performing in local clubs and began to make a name and gain respect in the area. DurtySol has had the pleasure of opening for major acts like, Earth, Wind & Fire, Cameo, Chaka Khan, Naughty by Nature, Roy Ayers and jazz artist, Marion Meadows just to name a few. Also, DurtySol has performed live on "Good Morning Chicago", and had the pleasure to perform in the independent film "Jazz June". In July of 2003 DurtySol began creating original songs like, "Hott", "Peace", "Lover of My Sol", "Keep On", and "Beautiful" for their debut CD. In March of 2004, they began recording and perfecting there sound and now they are ready to introduce it to the world. DurtySol has found a way to connect with people of all ages who enjoy Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop, Funk and more. And along with those ingredient they top it off with a positive and uplifting message.
