Expliss Records©Expliss– 1) Clearly expressed through music. 2) Expressing ones self by way of vocals or instrument.Expliss started in 2004 by Charri, A St. Paul, Minnesota resident. Shortly after, her sister Jenesis of Minneapolis Minnesota joined her side, supporting her every step of the way.
Record label for the love of singing and writing music. By starting a Record Label for women, they feel that they can help start a movement. All women, different backgrounds, no boundaries on what type of music. "We just want to sing and have fun doing it!"
A little history of Expliss; They started off working with Their brother's label I.A.N.T.L (It Ain't Never Too Late) Records. They worked with them for about a year, and then decided to branch off and do their own thing. After going through some complications, they thought it would be best to put music on hold for a while until they were able to focus on it completely.
Top of 2007 Charri and Jenesis started over with the whole game plan for their future success. Bringing on a whole team of supporters, and starting a internship for teens to help get their names out there to the public.
This year they reconnected with thieir cousin Melo and together they decided to form a group. Group Name Still Undecided!
Charri (said like Cherry) got her stage name from a friend that couldn't pronounce her real name correctly. It was said "since your such a sweetie, Cherry fits you." Charri liked it and ran with it, changing the spelling to better fit her. The first three letters come from her first name. (Charilyn)
Jenesis looked in the Bible for her name. Since she was starting a new chapter of life she felt Genesis, which is the first book, would be suitable for her, changing the spelling and beginning it with a J.
Melo first went by the name Melly Mel, She liked it but thought maybe she should go with something more catchy. A close friend of theirs thought of the name Melo and she loved it! Catchy yet Sexy!! OKAY!!
The three all falls under one name... EXPLISS (EXR)
They wish to accomplish a life long dream of success in the music industry and there is no holding them back now. Despite all the complications and negativity from others, they managed to stay focused and move forward... Heading straight to the TOP!!!
