Television:
Lost, CSI, Mythbusters, Andrew Zimmerman, and the occasional Comedy Central.
Books:
I read a lot of jazz literature; I really like to get into people's heads when they were innovating music. I'm also a big fan of Henry David Thoreau; he provides a lot of good idea's to live by.
Heroes:
I am always in some way inspired by any form of music I hear. But there are some people that help me develop myself:
Jeffrey Cutter- doesn't mind spending hours on end just talking about anything. He's an amazing teacher that will offer his time to anyone.
Rich Kowaleski- told me to say, "Fuck you all". He helped me to break out of this mold that everyone has of a jazz bassist (and a person as well).
Danielle Leonard- No one can truly understand this relationship; we can't even make sense of it. I've come to embrace that it's just not meant to be understood, and I am aware that I will never live this sentence down. We sit, stare, laugh, and love every minute of it. I stumble for words to explain myself, I still get nervous, my hands still sweat. I love her so much, and some things just never change. A lot of things have changed, but we've managed to embrace each other while enjoying every minute of it. I'll never forget the first few minutes we ever actually spent together alone from the world; it was truly amazing, and that feeling of excitement still runs through me when I reminisce. We have already made enough memories to last a lifetime, but I know that we have a lifetime to make memories. I always think of ourselves as one; never two separate individuals. Our feelings, goals, and ambitions are the same. Someday all of our dreams will come true, it's hard to believe because this relationship is better than any dream I've ever had. Everyday is a step forward, and I will always look forward to a future with her.
