About Me

The newest addition to the slide show collection!!!

Here are the two slide shows from our New Years Eve extravaganza!! We are rockstars!APPARENTLY YOU CAN ONLY PUT 100 PHOTOS ON ONE SLIDESHOW... SO... HERE'S THE REST OF IT!
I thank Steve for this game.~Seek education rather than grades. Seek your best rather than someone else's. Seek friendship rather than acceptance. Seek worth rather than rank. Seek to build rather than to tear down. Seek laughter and love in spite of pain and you will have learned to live.~~And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.~I'm me (how's that? want more?) I am a daughter, a girlfriend, a friend, a stage manager, a retail manager, a show manager, a builder, a listener, I'm a lover and sometimes a fighter. What you see is what you get...no hidden agendas. I'm very VERY loyal to my friends and to all the people I love! Friends are one of THE most important parts of my life. If you want to know about me....ask my friends...they can give a more accurate assessment of me than I can! I bond to friends quickly and intensely and my friendships are lasting. You've got to be able to make me laugh...it's been said that if you go through your day and accomplish nothing else, your day has not been a waste if you have laughed. I love roadtrips and traveling I enjoy hiking and the outdoors in general, loading in and tearing down sets, building stuff, other random manual labor, lifting heavy objects for no apparent reason...I guess you could say I just derive a great deal of pleasure from sweating profusely (I took that from Grace). I'm laid back, but hard as nails when I have to be. I'm a friendly, easy going person (most of the time). I like meeting new people and catching up with old friends. I'm spontaneous and adventurous when I have time to be. I'll try almost anything once and if I like it, I'll do it again! I think I sometimes dance like Ellen. Two things that are almost always with me are my leatherman and maglight (which people make fun of me for, then end up needing them). I love cargo pockets and dislike carrying a purse (so I dont). I enjoy a crazy night at the bar with friends just as much as an evening at home drinking wine with friends or spending a quiet evening with a sweet girl. I think everything happens for a reason, but sometimes the reason is initially hard to see. I am dedicated to the job at hand...doesnt matter if it's theatre or retail...or selling hats...if I've committed to it, I'll give it 110%. I believe that work should be fun and if you're not having fun at work, you're in the wrong job. I believe that marriage should be about 2 people who love each other committing their lives to each other and no other political bullshit. I believe that music is the window to a persons soul. I believe that time heals all wounds. I believe that children are our future...teach them well and let them lead the way...(yep, I said it)! I am working on in the never-ending process of growing up. My career of choice is theatre...we in the theatre world work hard and we play harder...that's just how we roll. ~I live for the nights I'll never remember with the friends I'll never forget!!.. My Interests

Theatre (although it's more of a career than just an interest), good music, live music, singing, out door stuff...softball, vollyball, hiking, biking, rollerblading (or as CAG would say...Skatin'), trying/doing new things, meeting new people, karaoke bars, going to movies, the internet (more of an addiction than an interest), photography (well...i just like taking pictures. If that qualifies as actual photography so be it), crafting (i.e. scrapbooking, putting beads on lampshades for random people), home repairs, taking road trips (wish everyone wasnt so darn spread out over the darn map), random nights of debauchery, talking til ungodly hours of the night/morning, The Power of 4, Golden Girls, ...that's all I can come up with now...

I'd like to meet:

PEOPLE...I love meeting cool people. People are an important part of my life. Weird, crazy, bizarre, slightly off (but all still cool) people can turn into AMAZING friends very quickly and for that I'm grateful and thankful. My only requirement is that we are compatible forms of weird.Funny Black Kid

Music:

Ha...well...anyone who knows me KNOWS how much I love music...all types of music!! I have over 600 CDs and that's estimating on the low end. I have 3 GIANT books for CDs. Some of the styles include Broadway/Show Tunes/Opera/Theatre, Country, Angry Lesbian/Cool Lesbian, Easy Listening, Jazz, Punk, Rock, Rap, Movie Soundtracks, Folk, Hip Hop, Top 40, etc. Some favorite artists include Jason Mraz, Jo Dee Messina, Martina McBride, Postal Service, James Taylor, Ani DiFranco, Abba, Maria Sebastian, Holly Cole, Kasey Chambers, Michael Buble, LeAnne Rimes, Reba McEntire, K.D. Lang, Melissa Etheridge, Counting Crows, Maroon 5, Fem2Fem, Disappear Fear, Everything But the Girl, Carrie Underwood, George Michael's jazz album, Clay Aiken and Josh Groban (I'll admit to them), and of course J.J. Hobbs. You go, Leah!

Movies:

Anything with Julia Roberts in it (I own most of her movies), anything with Jennifer Garner, The Sweetest Thing, Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Boys Dont Cry, Moulin Rouge, and again, I'll admit it...Sound of Music the movie...brings back so many happy memories of watching it with my mom.

Television:

Alias, House, Grey's Anatomy, Charmed, CSI, Veronica Mars, Golden Girls, Macguyver, Quantum Leap, Will and Grace, Survivor, American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, Scrubs, Medium, Ghost Whisperer, Queer As Folk, L Word, and Inside the Actor's Studio.

Books:

I love books like it's my job...oh wait... I work for Waldenbooks and it is great fun keeping up on all the new books and what people are reading. I however, actually have a hard time reading books...because I have problems concetrating on them, and I end up reading a line 4 times over and i get frustrated and stop reading. I think it's a little of ADD and some OCD and a few other letters and acronyms. However, I did just read Tuesdays with Morrie (amazing) and am currently reading Confederacy of Dunces, and Vital Friends.

Heroes:

My mom is my hero above all else...to see what she fought through for almost 10 years with little to no complaints is inspiring to me! I love my mom and wish I had more time on this earth with her! She was a great woman that I didn't know nearly well enough. I miss her!
