About Me

I got a snare drum when I was 12 for a Christmas present in 1960. A neighbor (bout 3 houses away) who was in high school played drums in the high school band,-- hearing him playing his drums, he was into Joe Morello and Take 5...was what pulled me to the drums. He taught me the 2 drum lesson books that I needed to learn in order to be in the drum section in high school...which I joined in when I reached the 11th grade ( I played coronet from 6th grade thru 11th..).then 1 day when an opening occurred I became a member of the drum section for 11th and 12th grade of high school. I have studied with many teachers all the years I have played.--------I started playing Jazz and other types of music with people from my high school band...---- I had my 1st rock band at 17 in 1965...we played a few times then people decided to quit the band.------I have played in over 25 bands in my drumming adventures.I have been recording my drumming and mixing with loops from Acid Music.--- I have a nerve injury of Sciatica / Disc bulge at L4 'n L5 / into S1 from an on the job injury of being hit by a truck that was hit by van driven by a drunk driver..when i was working in 1998. I have to use for cane walking. I am now being a bladder cancer survivor who has had a second surgery to remove new tumor. I am going to continue do drumming and music on toward reaching my birthday number 60 on March 25, 2008

Band Members: Allan Palmer -- Drums, Percussion, Intuited Church Organ ideas I am drumming in The Love Choir...which is in Sebastopol, CA....my good drumming friend is allowing me to play on his drumkit on some songs at weekly practices and at some performances.
Influences: Every one that I have heard play music. Big band / Jazz of the 40's...then the music of the 50's, 60's, 70's, and so on to 2007. The Beatles

saturday

i had good time at Love Choir on weds.--10-15.my friend Don's drumming was very inspiring....the Choir worked on a version of Amazing Grace with some nice vocal parts....i got to drum on 5 to 6 songs....

sunday afternoon

the disc bulge injury is just so "difficult" to deal with...it has it's way of causing discomfort / pain---even with my exercises..it can just hurt....have been drumming at Love Choir....weds..9-24, 1...
