CHAOS THE CAGE
“The God-damn Boy Jr.â€
Living confirmation that determination overcomes circumstances; Chaos the Cage is the future of hip-hop. Born in Port Smith, Virginia, Cage was relocated to Jackson, Mississippi at an early age. Outfitted with the philosophy that EVIL only exists so that people can do that backwards [LIVE], Cage was determined to use the chaos surrounding his life as stimulation instead of justification for failure. Blessed and cursed with an IQ of 230, this certified genius quickly became jaded with the inadequate curriculum of Mississippi’s public schools. As a result, Cage made the decision to focus on his music career. Acknowledging that education is important, he decided to obtain a GED.
Equipped with a plethora of knowledge, Cage composes rhymes that challenge the listener to contemplate issues at a deeper level. Influenced by artists such as Eminem, Sam Cook, Who Want It? label mates, and the possession of a fondness of music produced prior to 1985, Cage uses his lyrical talent to paint vivid pictures and rejuvenate old memories. This is evident in his first mix-tape release, Entry Level Hustla. His sole source of motivation is to keep moving on.
A member of Who Want It? Records since it’s establishment in Jackson, MS, fellow label mates refer to Cage as “That God-damn Boy Jr.†Definitely the jokester of the group, Cage refers to himself as the “Swagger Consultantâ€.
True to his nature, Cage is not only committed to the industry as and artist, he plays an active role behind the scenes in virtually every level. In addition to his visible genius on the microphone, Cage utilizes his talents as a ghostwriter and is proficient in the use of ProTools software. This fledging producer concedes that although young, he is experienced. According to Cage, he can “stuff a marble in a strawâ€. The truth behind this statement is more than evident in the phenomenon Cage fabricates with a pad and pen.
Be on the look out for his upcoming solo project and features on NFL: They Swear We Ain’t From Here releasing from the Who Want It? Records label soon.
