Living in Rotterdam, Holland, I started playing drums when I was 12 with my schoolmates. During my studies in electronics, I was invited to tour and record with Factory band Quando Quango, which was way more interesting than attending college.At the same time I was also involved in the formation of the band Spasmodique in Rotterdam (http://www.spasmodique.nl), which included singer Mark Ritsema. After travelling too much between Rotterdam and Manchester, where Quando Quango ended up, I decided to stick with my hometown band Spasmodique.During the early 80's I became interested in sound engineering. In 1984 I produced my first album for Rotterdam band Dojoji, which included members Leslie Woods (Au Pairs) and Ted Langebach (later of local Now & Wow fame). Since this time I've worked as both live and studio engineer for numerous bands and started my own sound studio (www.studio2x2.nl) for mixing, mastering and making soundscapes for movies and art projects.After the final split up of Spasmodique I became drummer, with Mark Ritsema as guitarist, for one of our old favourite bands Mecano (www.myspace.com/mecanomusic) in 2006
