Perpetually improving...

About Me

I strive to set an example that I want others to live up to; I have a perfect ideal of what people should act like. I can't always live up to that role, I'm only human; but I try as hard as I am able.
My friends are like my family; they are more important to me than anything in the world, and I go out of my way to help them when they need it. Anyone I meet I consider my friend unless they deem themselves unworthy. Sometimes I overextend myself, but I always manage to come out on top thanks to my awesome family and my good friends.
Music is my passion; my life force. Music is about one tiny notch less important to me than my family and friends; it's all about priorities. I play guitar for my band thentherewasfire; I've played for around 5 years and have created my own signature style based on my influences and experiences. I play a Paul Reed Smith Tremonti SE through a Line 6 150W head with a Marshall 4x12 1960A Cabinet.
My sweet, beautiful Lauren...I knew from the moment I met her, but it's been a long and complicated road that has finally led to a happy ending...I would do damn near anything for not only her but her family as well; they've shown me a love and respect that most people only hope to ever receive, and I'm thankful every day for the happiness that God bestowed upon me when Lauren and I were finally able to be together...
I love drifting. I'm not that good at it yet, but I'm still learning. I drive a 1999 Mazda Miata and I LOVE MY CAR so much. I've wanted a Miata since I was 15 and I finally got one. I love working on cars, even though I don't know much about them. They fascinate and at the same time frustrate me; it's a double-edged sword.
I don't believe in organized religion; none of them have nailed all the ins and outs of spirituality yet, nor will they because they are all simply too close-minded and ideological. There is a right way and wrong way to live...period. I believe very strongly in God; I have an excellent (albeit private) relationship with Him.
I don't subscribe to any particular political views; whoever can get the job done to the best of his ability and in the best possible interest of as many people as he can will win my vote. My greatest concerns are the environment, homeland security and social security.
I am not an ignorant person; I'm actually fairly informed in many topics of conversation. I have an opinion on damn near everything and I'm not afraid to speak my mind. EVER. I guess I'm an asshole sometimes...but life demands action. I am trustworthy. I'm ALWAYS late. I like being in good physical shape.
This is who I am...and I'm happy as hell to be me.

My Interests

Go to ImageShack® to Create your own Slideshow Guitar, keyboard, recording, music in general, import cars, my friends, pwning n00bs, cruising, drifting, working out, Disc-golf, bowling, video games, shopping, interior design, modeling, writing, eating pizza, drinking cokes, showers AND baths, joy riding, the internet, movies, magazines, martial arts, socializing (when I'm in the mood), sports (ESPECIALLY college football), swimming and I'm sure I'll think of some others later.

I'd like to meet:

Steve Vai, Buckethead, "Drifter X", Tarzan Yamada, Shigeru Miyamoto, Eddie Van Halen, all the guys from Blink 182 and Newfound Glory, Bill Donohue, Seanbaby, Dane Cook...Posthumously would definitely be Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bruce Lee, Kurt Cobain and Brandon Lee. I'm depressed as HELL that I didn't get to meet Dimebag Darrell...he was one of my greatest influences for guitar and I always wanted to meet him...RIP Dime. And I guess people who aren't frickin' crazy too... atticaownsall -- IM.

Music:

This is certainly not an exhaustive list; I pretty much like anything but fucking southern rap and new country...As I Lay Dying, Saosin, Escape the Fate, The Autumn Offering, Bullet for my Valentine, Still Remains, The Bled, Thrice, Story of the Year, Every Time I Die, Darkest Hour, Bleeding Through, Trivium, All That Remains, Zebrahead, Reel Big Fish, Blink 182 (fuck all you whores that rip me for that DIRECTLY IN YOUR FUCKING ANUS!!!), Initial D Soundtracks, J-Pop and J-rock in general, Matchbook Romance (NOT the new CD though), DJ Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Technoboy, BT, ATB, Robin Fox, Nas, Mos Def, Kanye West, Smashing Pumpkins, Pantera, Sublime, Rollins Band, White Zombie, Helmet, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Prong, Stone Temple Pilots, Coheed and Cambria, and even though I fucking hate myself for these two; Fallout Boy and Panic at the Disco, Taking Back Sunday, Johnny Cash, Gnarles Barkley, and sadly, I'm a total sucker for any kind of shitty dance music. I swear I was supposed to be born with the ability to dance; didn't quite work out though. And let's not forget my favorite, albeit defunct, band of all time; Fontane. I'll always remember. :)

Movies:

The Crow, The Butterfly Effect, Donnie Darko, Gattaca, Vanilla Sky, Memento, The Big Lebowski, Million Dollar Baby, Hero, Samurai Fiction, Battle Royale, Biozombie, anything by Smith or Tarentino, Enter the Dragon, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, pretty much anything with Bruce Lee in it, Jackie Chan flicks, STAR WARS, Out Cold, Kill Bill Vol. 1, Joe Dirt, Dazed and Confused, Empire Records, Hackers, The Replacements, Austin Powers, Baseketball, Kung Pow, Spiderman 1 & 2, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Wayne's World, Airheads, Perfect Blue, Appleseed, Rurouni Kenshin series, Goldenboy, Spriggan, and there's a ton more movies and anime but that's a pretty good list for now.

Television:

I'm not really a TV fan, but I do like Comedy Central and occasionally MTV (especially the Real World! Although RW: Austin is turning out pretty shittily). My favorite two shows hands down are Most Extreme Elimination Challenge and Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Also, with the exception of Real World, I HATE REALITY TV! It shows exactly how damn nosy all we Americans really are.

Books:

Sadly, the extent of my reading anymore is usually magazines due to lack of time and interest, but some of my favorite books and stories are The Language of Fear by Del James, Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein, Alas Babylon, Animal Farm, The Giver, Silent Ship; Silent Sea, and WAY back in the day anything by Christopher Pike :) or R.L. "Bob" Stine rofl.

Heroes:

Bruce Lee, Steve Vai, my dad and Ghandi... classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" .."http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/s wflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="ExternalInterface" width="320" height="305" .... classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" .."http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/s wflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="ExternalInterface" width="320" height="305" .... classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" .."http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/s wflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="ExternalInterface" width="320" height="305" .... classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" .."http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/s wflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="ExternalInterface" width="320" height="305" ..
