About Me
Sarah Moran is a native New Yorker who, until the age of fourteen, earnestly believed that all the animals in the Museum of Natural History had died of natural causes. She received her BA from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME in 2005 and spent a semester at the Tyler School of Art in Rome. She currently lives and works in the East Village where she makes paintings and photographs.
Ultimately her goal is to explore the psychology of private thoughts as compared to public image. She uses paint to try and convey this message because the images are both specific enough to provoke thoughtful inquiry but resist narrative in a way that the ideas and emotions invoked by the image could belong to anyone.
