About Me
Hello, I'm Joanna.
""No, life cannot be understood flat on a page. It has to be lived; a person has to get out of his head, has to fall in love, has to memorize poems, has to jump off bridges into rivers, has to stand in an empty desert and whisper sonnets under his breath… We get one story, you and I, and one story alone. God has established the elements, the setting and the climax and resolution. It would be a crime not to venture out, wouldn’t it?"
excerpt from Donald Miller's Through Painted Deserts
I'll gradually work up to the level where I can confidently claim that I do indeed possess an intimidating style of writing and will allow myself to brag of the many articles, many reviews, many possible novels in the making. I'll eventually pretend that through exploration and my unquenchable curiosity, I can thrust my fist in the air, fingers tightly gripping the handle of my 1980's RCA camcorder, and call myself a cinematographer, a screenwriter, a filmmaker with slight seriousness.
In the meantime however, I'll continue listening to my brother's horrible rendition of those irritating Christmas songs from that one show, Alvin and the Chipmunks while I pretend to work. It's all in the family, including the business.
On a much smaller note, I like Dr. Pepper, good music, exploration, dusk, and foreign films. Also, in due time, I will come to own a typewriter similar to this one here.
