Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907..
'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language.... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.'
Theodore Roosevelt 1907God does not show partiality or favoritism (Deuteronomy 10:17; Acts 10:34; Romans 2:11; Ephesians 6:9), and neither should we. James 2:4 describes those who discriminate as “judges with evil thoughts.†Instead, we are to love our neighbors as ourselves (James 2:8). In the Old Testament, God divided humanity into two “racial†groups: Jews and Gentiles. God’s intent was for the Jews to be a kingdom of priests, ministering to the Gentile nations. Instead, for the most part, the Jews became proud of their status and despised the Gentiles. Jesus Christ put an end to this, destroying the dividing wall of hostility (Ephesians 2:14).
All forms of racism, prejudice, and discrimination are affronts to the work of Christ on the cross. Jesus commands us to love one another as He loves us (John 13:34). If God is impartial and loves us with impartiality, then we need to love others with that same high standard. Jesus teaches in Matthew 25 that whatever we do to the least of His brothers, we do to Him. If we treat a person with contempt, we are mistreating a person created in God’s image; we are hurting somebody who God loves and for whom Jesus died.
Racism, in varying forms and to various degrees, has been a plague on humanity for thousands of years. Brothers and sisters of all ethnicities, this should not be. Victims of racism, prejudice, and discrimination need to forgive. Ephesians 4:32 declares, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.†Racists may not deserve your forgiveness, but we deserved God’s forgiveness far less. Those who practice racism, prejudice, and discrimination need to repent. “Present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God†(Romans 6:13). May Galatians 3:28 be completely realized, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.â€If you say you are a Christian,(Christ Like) and do not defend Israel like our Father, Lord, God Almighty, All Consuming Fire, commands us to do, then how can you say you are a Christian? It is not about religion. It is about your personal relationshop with the Lord. To know the Lord is through communication, which involves knowing His word, prayer without ceasing and most importantly, listening to Him. You listen by reading His word! If you know God, then you know His word. The Jewish are His chosen people. He made a promise to them long before we (Christians) were brought into His plan. They rejected Him so, He set them aside and put us before them, knowing, because He created us, that we would believe in Jesus as our Messiah. Okay, if you understand this, then you should know it is Israel and anyone who doesn't come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior who will be going through the Tribulation! If you are a Christian you, (Your Spirit) would not want anyone, let alone God's chosen people to go through it! This is why He COMMANDS US to pray for Israel. The Bible commands us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6), to speak out for Zion’s sake (Isaiah 62:1), to be watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem (Isaiah 62:6) and to bless the Jewish people (Genesis 12:3). These and so many other verses of the Bible that have one overriding message-- as Christians we have a Biblical obligation to defend Israel and the Jewish people in their time of need.During the Holocaust, too many Christians were silent, and we were left to mourn the slaughter of 6 million Jews. Today, Bible-believing Christians must speak up and stand up for Israel. We must act to do whatever we can to protect Israel’s 6 million Jews from the second Holocaust. We must get it right this time. Our faith demands it. The times require it. Silence is not an option.
THE KINGDOM OF ISRAEL, WHICH IS GOD'S PEOPLE AND JERUSALEM; THE LORD'S CHOSEN PLACE FROM WHICH TO RULE!
