Sunday’s Child

About Me

sunday's child - was formed by songwriter/guitarist David Barrett and guitarist/multi -instrumentalist Gef Palmer. They have been recently joined by singer Maria Megally who graduated from Music College in Brighton and formally Guildford. Taking their name from a song by John Martyn, one of David's main influences they draw on a a range of artists for inspiration. They have a blues and soul feel to some of their music and can create delicate introspective moods with their slower material. The live set up is simple, two guitars, two voices and a stomp box providing a kick drum sound. Sunday's Child are at home playing a variety of venues from big stages to small intimate venues. They played at Guilfest this year. They are available for paid covers gigs and original music venues. They often combine the two where the strength of their own material sits happily alongside their extensive set of covers. Maria's sweet soul voice blends perfectly with the guitars winning new friends wherever they play.In addition to the acoustic trio format they play with Chris Ross adding bass and are currently developing a plugged in version of their set with drummer Matt Price Sunday's Child are creating a buzz with local radio stations, playing a live session on brooklands fm they recieved a massive endorsment from all concerned.A similar session is coming up soon on eagle radio 96.4,producer Jon Harris wrote" I really really like this ." We'll take that as a compliment.
