About Me

If you have a moment, please take a look at this video regarding Prop 8. And if you have another moment, forward it on to people you know. Not just to your friends and family who share the same sentiments, but to the people who you know voted yes on 8, or who oppose gay marriage. We can't continue to just preach to the choir.
I've been to more than one protest this week. Saturday night was a particularly historic evening. I'll continue to protest and speak out in whatever way that I can. But it's important that everyone across the country, across the world, speak out. Hate and bigotry must cease. There are no innocent bystanders anymore. You are involved one way or another. Prop 8 is a major issue, but it's still only the tip of an iceberg of hate and intolerance that has existed for generations in our culture alone, and continues to persist even today.
End it. I urge everyone to do their part. Silence is acceptance. We are approaching the year 2009. It's appalling that people continue to harbor intolerance, hatred and bigotry. In the name of God, even. We, as a nation and a world, can no longer allow these ignorant and backward-thinking people prolong the agony and impede progress. It's appalling that we've allowed it to come this far.
There is a time to respect people's beliefs and opinions. This is not that time. Especially when they are opinions of prejudice toward other human beings. There is a time to be beacons of light, tolerance, understanding, acceptance and love. To lead by example. To speak out against hatred.
Now is that time.
