Pianist / producer
Jasper Huiskamp (1980) is an enthousiastic pianist with a love for jazz, funk and pop/fusion. He started to follow lessons to play the piano at the age of 9, and after a few years he also got interested in computerbased composing (and later on recording and studio technics). While still following music lessons, he started to play in pop bands, and later on also in a jazz band, which deepened his interest in the jazz music and improvisation itself. Since then he played in a number of bands, and is currently active with his own jazz/funk band Release Roger.
Over the last few years he participated in XLJazz projects (by Buitenkunst), with performances in the BimHuis (Amsterdam), giving him the chance to work with composers/conductors like Martin Fondse and top soloists like Miguel Martinez, Mete Erker, Claudio Puntin and Sander Hop. His current studio enables him to compose music or do small mixing projects, and you can frequently find him at open music sessions in Utrecht, playing the Fender Rhodes or piano.
Passion in music is everything to him, and he really likes to share this with other people and play together...
