About Me

HELLO! My name is Spencer and I have recently moved to Melissa, TX (although I am originally from Beaumont, TX). I am single and straight, and would like to meet some new people. Currently, I am a both a doctoral student and instructor at the University of North Texas, as well as an MLS student and library research assistant at Texas Woman's University.
I like sleeping, shopping, reading, dining out, world travel, liberal arts, intellectual-type stuff, and enjoying the simpler things in life. Some places to which I've traveled so far are: Belize, Cayman Islands, France, Honduras, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, and various States across the U.S.
I am going to Egypt in May 2008!

Music:

I mostly listen to new wave, synthpop, and 80's music, as well as some electronica, trance, rave, etc. I also enjoy new age/classical, as well as oldies (pre-1970) rock and country. If your musical tastes are of the same or similar genres, then let's talk!

Movies:

I prefer horror and suspense-thriller types, but I like all kinds of movies, really.

Television:

Who has time for T.V.? Me, very rarely...but I do like to watch Seinfeld, WWE (the sports entertainment soap opera), Mind of Mencia, Family Guy, and South Park (NO, KITTY! YOU CAN'T HAVE MY POT PIE!!) I also watch quite a bit of britcoms.

Books:

My bookshelves contain large varieties of sociology and psychology textbooks, seminal works in philosophy and the humanities, a few fantasy and horror novels, an array of books on foreign travel, art history, language...and I even have an Encyclopedia of Cats!

Watching the stars as I set sail...

Spring break is coming and I am very excited! Although I will be out of class for the entire week, I will remain busy catching up on a workload that has been slowly surpassing me (instead of me surpas...

The stars have left the sky, the wind blows through the leaves.

I am nearly eight weeks into the Spring semester and on the verge of hanging myself off of my balcony (sort of like the nanny did in The Omen movie). Going into this semester I knew that it would be a...

Just when you least expect it, just what you least expect.

My wireless router has yet to arrive, so I'm still using wire connections to gain Internet access. I have two computers--my old HP desktop from 2003 with Windows XP and my new HP laptop...

I don't think I'll remain with the living.

I bought my first laptop computer today. Historically, I have always used a desktop PC, even when laptops became popular and trendy. I thought to myself "Why would anyone want to take a computer aroun...

It's not like I've lost everything...I still have my regret.

Jesus' last supper and Battlestar Galactica...what do they have in common? Discuss.

For the past 30 hours, I have been in a state of recovery. The party I hosted was a success, with plenty of eating, drinking, drunken games, and so forth for all. I stocked a pretty extensive bar with...
