About Me

***PLEASE NOTE: THIS PAGE IS NOT RUN BY 151. HE IS CURRENTLY INCARCERATED***

If you were to judge him by his sound or by the company he keeps, you’d swear you had just heard the next game-changer to shake up the West Coast rap scene. Once you learn that 151 hails from the gritty streets of Seattle’s South-End, you realize you’ve done more than discover the first artist to have the talent and polish to officially put the Northwest on the map. You’ve just unearthed a kingpin with the potential to command the next regional rap dynasty.
Currently a free-agent, 151 is no newcomer to the West Coast rap scene. Having established an underground fan base through collaborations and appearances on more than 45 albums and compilations over the past 10 years, 151 first gained notoriety in 1996 when he signed with AWOL Records – one of the most dominant West Coast underground labels of its time. His appearances on the “West Coast Trippin’ Vol. 1 Compilation” and the 1998 release of “Til My Casket Drops” by his mentor and independent rap legend, C-Bo, provided 151 with valuable exposure and the opportunity to make a name for himself as a top-tier lyricist. Over the course of the next 5 years, 151 appeared on numerous other records with AWOL artists including Killa Tay, Marvaless and Lunasicc.
In 2003, 151 released his debut solo album, “Code of the Street,” under C-Bo’s West Coast Mafia label. The freshman effort sold more than 5,000 units independently with little promotional support beyond consistently solid album reviews. Positive media coverage in publications such as XXL, Black Beat, Murder Dog, Showcase, Xplosive, Rime, SeaSpot and the Seattle Weekly clearly demonstrated that 151 was destined for continued success.
Not one to rest, 151 has appeared on over 20 albums since the release of “Code of the Street.” In addition to appearances on records by Yukmouth, Jet Black, Messy Marv and releases with other Northwest and Bay Area cohorts; 151 has been a part of two group albums (Lac of Respect’s “Game Members” and the 2004 “Gang Affiliated” album by West Coast Mafia Gang). Add to that the release of “151 presents: The Bars Association Mixtape Volume 1” and a performance on the 2006 original motion picture soundtrack, “Dirty” starring Cuba Gooding, Jr., and you can see the momentum 151 has established for his 2007 releases.
With the launch of “The Bars Association Mixtape Volume 2,” featuring 21 original mixtape tracks featuring T.I. and Jae Millz, 151 has set the stage for his long-awaited sophomore release. Complete with guest appearances by Bun-B, Joe Budden, C-Bo, Kurupt, Messy Marv, Killa Tay, Guce and Grammy nominated R&B artist, Carl Thomas; 151 is building the foundation for a take-over certain to deliver the rewards promised in the title of his new album: “Power & Privilege.” It’s quite clear this kingpin will settle for nothing less.

“151 is a diamond in the rough, soon to be exposed to the light that will make him shine. His skills speak for themselves…”
-C-Bo
“151 is a hard hittin’ MC whose potent, street-laced lyricism is sweet to the gullet, but burns on the way down.”
-Black Beat Magazine
“151 repped the classic West Coast sound something lovely this year. He recaptured what (for me) has been missing from the West for a while.”
-Murder Dogg Magazine’s Best of 2003
“151’s flow is steady and crystal clear, which makes it easy for him to take flight on a track”
-Showcase Magazine
“As narrators go, 151 is one of the most striking around.”
-The Seattle Weekly
