• Indian Classical Dance - ODISSI style
It’s a sacred dance that was born in the temple of Orissa, in India. It was performed by maharis, the dancing priestesses. Odissi is characterized by graceful and circular movements and it is also called “sculpture in movement” because the dancing postures are taken from the sculptures that adorn the hindu temples. This dance not only includes part of pure dance, but also part of acting, that’s why the dancers are also actresses:
