About Me
Hi I'm Cecee Rider!Born and bred into....(theee most amazing!!) Irish family in London; at the age of six I discovered Fats, Ella, Billy, Dylan, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Tina Turner (aren't I supposed to put these artists under Influences??) anyway and so the list goes on. Wow! What a bunch of dudes! I owe it all to them! As a result, I didn't need much encouragement. I seemed to be a natural as a kid when it came to cabaret. At least with my sister, that is!
I felt so moved by what I'd heard, I found my own voice. Inspired by my artistic family and other incredible people as I grew up, I became fascinated with what makes people tick. Then, I found a voice for it and then my own rhythm. So with that, there seemed nowhere else for me to go but here - Fantastic!The next step. I auditioned for my first band as a backing singer. So naturally, I became lead vocalist! I experimented with sound, style and musical/clubbing/dj madness for a while in London Town. Learning my trade, so to speak. Funk, Jazz Funk, House, Indie Rock & Smoookey Soul Train just some of the styles, bands & gigs I funked!
I met, worked and performed for some of the most amazing people; saw many awesome sights; travelled the world; danced & sang at some fantastic clubs & parties. But was still, to me, only a singer. This did not express who I was. So, here I am!Seduced briefly, by the flatery and recognition of what was occuring around me, I decided to develop my own style further and go it alone.Before now & even now, I was always a singer, a writer, a traveller, a lover, a fighter, a rogue, a gypsy, a mimmic, a poet and a paradox!Welcome to my site!!!You'll find here, some of the most wonderfully inspired people, my musical contempories & my supporters who I would not be here without (Ooooh! Did I almost forget??)..... partners in crime and great showmen!
