THE PARADOX ARE AMAZING LIVE...oban times
The Paradox are a mixture of heavy riffage and ball bustin' rhymes.
Consisting of Beejay (Damaged Goodz), who in the past has opened for Xzibit, Busta Rhymes, Black Eyed Peas, The Game, 50 CENT & G-UNIT, Lloyd Banks, Sugar Hill Gang, The Streets and released a slew of critically acclaimed material (Keys to the City EP, Audiobiography LP, Blissphemy LP, among others!)
Jim has been in various rock/metal guises and opened for the mighty Biffy Clyro in home town Fort William!.
the boys got together from being freinds for years and having a mutual love of authentic hip hop and heavy metal and formed kinda accidentally as a result of an unbelievable jam session where the boys chemistry just clicked!
After 2 sold out shows at the legendary Glasgow's King Tuts Wah Wah Hut in support of EL-P and Necro, we finished recording our EP in December 07 and are ready to bring the pain to a venue near you! We had airplay from Jim Gellatly of XFM and Vic Galloway of Radio 1 before the EP was even pressed!.After a blazing live session on BBC radio1 with vic galloway THE PARADOX opened for SYSTEM OF A DOWN's new band SCARS ON BROADWAY at glasgow's ABC and went down a storm!.THE PARADOX are currently working on their debut LP which should see the light of day around summertime!.Enjoy our tunes in the meantime!
EP review by Rick Fulton of Daily Record
* The Paradox - The Poet Versus The Town Crier EPEVER since Run DMC and Aerosmith came together on Walk This Way hip hop and rock have fused to create one of music's most exciting hybrids. Public Enemy and Anthrax's Bring the Noise, Linkin Park and Jay-Z's Collision Course and even rapper Ice T's thrash metal band Body Count are some of the best.
Now Scotland has it's own.
Stand out tunes on the five track ep include Switch, a stick-on chart single with its buzzsaw squall of the guitars; Yin and Yang shrugs 'we're going to hell' as Beejay raps "the ying and the yang, the bling and the blang" and the huge metal monster tune Black Eye Kiss Of Death.
Paul McCartney for one knows not all unions work but Paradox tears a gaping hole into Scots music. There is more to rock than Oasis and Franz Ferdinand.
