Thiago Barbosa a.k.a dj RIZOMA,was born in Ribeirao Preto (s.p) and spent most of his teen age time looking for alternative sounds, always inside electronic music and his directions. His search for new styles lead him to techno music in mid 1999,and
after some months, atracted by the evolution of sounds and synths ,begans to get interested by psychedelic full on. In 2004 happens his first contact with rave parties, in inner Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais state. Rizoma has been one of the best surprise among the new generation of dj..s , with high technical quality and precision on his mixes ,building very strong and impressive dj sets . Dj Rizoma designed his path trough some of the best labels on the electronic cene. At the year of 2007 he was invited by Dj Android to join the Brazilian label named Spectral Moon, after this first contact of tours development and managing foreing artists, he was invited to join Enzyme Records in 2008, label owned by Vasco a.k.a Zorflux. Now at he year of 2009 Dj Rizoma was promoted and invited by the legendary John Phantasm to join the PHANTASM RECORDS family , leaded by names like : CYCLE SPHERE, ESKIMO, JOHN PHANTASM, ZORFLUX, COSMOSIS, BLISS, XSI, MAD MAX, DAVINA, DICKSTER, SIRIUS ISNESS,BLAZED, 220V, SUBSTANCE, THE ATARIS, ANTI GRAVITY, PAINKILLER, PEACEMAKER AND DAPANJI, including a repertoire with the most selected djs ever, like : Dj Jibaro ( Netherlands ), Dj Bruna ( Brazil ), Dj Anneli ( Sweden ), Dj IIlija ( Macedonia ), Dj Koki ( Japan ), Nakamura ( Mexico ), Dj Druid ( Ireland ), Dj Cleyton ( Brasil ), Dj Chris ( Canada ) and Dj Ed Tangent ( U.K ). Phantasm records have already released more than 25 albuns, included some compilations, and for 2009 its preparing a lot of new surprises. His influences descend from kraft werk, Depeche Mode, Chemical Brothers, classical devoted, to the most innovative producers today such as Eskimo, Cycle Sphere, prodigy, pendulum, Moby, Groove Armada, ficherspooners, trentmoller, Basement Jaxx ...
Dj Rizoma has played already on the best open air parties , festivals and indoor clubs in brazil. He played among the finest like : CYCLE SPHERE, MASATOSHI, GUI BORATTO, GABE, RIKTAM, BANSI, KROME ANGELS, DINO PSARAS, INFECTED MUSHROOM and many more . For 2009 he is preparing his first world wide tour starting at the middle east and Europe and then who knows.......
