music, books/stories, art - all kinds, yum food in restaurants there's only one of or in the kitchen of good friends and family, driving through small towns and stopping, road trips, big cities on foot, taking pictures, making stuff, seeing a good show, having a good bubbly drink, being loved, giving gifts, being made to laugh, my dear husband aaron, my wonderful son elliot, my sweet baby boywesley, my friends, my family, the staff at city calvary, discovering new things, realizing i really believe things i want to believe, being a better wife and parent and friend, learning how to teach and serve the children and families at our church, learning from the kids and families at church, breathing fresh air, sleeping well and having dreams that are like secret lessons
way most importantly - endeavoring to know, understand, obey and honor Jesus - thereby facilitating the previous and any other goodness.

without it life would make so much less sense. what would revelations we're relunctant to have, love that makes our heart swell, memories sad and sweet, long drives, summer nights and rainy commutes be without a soundtrack?

sucks but i watch it anyway. i wish that the people responsible for shopping networks, E, any man channel, fox news, most of the product pushing programs for children, anything that teaches girls they are pieces of silly meat, and heretical religious programming would fall off the face of the earth...after the benefactors of said entities are forced to do community service to make up for the degradation of society.

Jesus, martin luther king, the peacemakers, bono, christians who don't associate neo-con propaganda with faith, the citizens of countries where peoples human rights and very lives are being threatened and (because they don't have something to trade or oil to burn or land that someone wants in exchange) no one with power is coming to save them, citizens who live in countries with the aforementioned and therefore the fabric of their lives is unravelling as the hands of imperialism tug, martin luther, jim wallis, gahndi, howard zinn, jimmy carter, c.s. lewis, harriet tubman, thom york, amy carmichael, artists, musicians, poets, writers and other people who call to attention and create beauty... none of these people save Jesus were perfect i know that. some have/had creepier faults than others. still - people who can really change things with good intentions move me. and even people who try & don't succeed move me. almost everyone i spent any amount of time with in uganda. especially the adults with a precious education who choose out of love to work long days in their home villages instead of moving into the city to work for a corporation or moving out of the country. to them a better life is making a better life for others. please support their work (god's work really) and sponsor a child to help them in their ministry. www.compassion.com
