Norwegian Snow

Norwegian Snow is a duo collaboration of Christmas-songs by Arne Hiorth (Flugelhorn) and Helge Nysted (Grand Piano). Their music has been desribed as " achingly beautiful, transporting you into a Norwegian snow-filled wilderness where each note is just perfect. It invokes an almost meditative calm in the improvisations over the well-known songs".The album was recorded at the beautiful Sofienberg church in Oslo, Norway, which has outstanding ambience and using the largest Steinway available. Hiorth and Nysted are experienced jazz and session musicians recording their melodic and lyrical music that comes across as a serene Nordic meditation.The session has been mixed and mastered by the genius Jan Erik Kongshaug in Rainbow Studio in Oslo.Norwegian Snow toured New York and London i december 2007, and toured London, Oslo and Berlin december 2008.
