About Me
Hello friends!I'm Andrea and I'm a professional violinist living and working in the San Diego area. I grew up in Iowa mostly but I'm no farmer's daughter! My parents were Italian and Lebanese so needless to say I grew up in a very loud household! So I guess music, which always starts out as making noise, was a natural choice for my career.I studied music for my bachelor's degree at both the University of Iowa School of Music and The Cleveland Institute of Music. I also have a master's degree in business administration from San Diego State University and have worked as a stockbroker and in real estate. I have always played professionally though and now play in the San Diego Chamber Orchestra and the Classics for Kids Orchestra. I also do a lot of broadway shows and have 20 or so students that I teach out of my Encinitas home studio. Some of the groups I have performed with include the San Diego Symphony, the San Diego Opera, the Hutchin's Consort, The Orchestra of Santa Fe, The New World Symphony, the Canton Symphony, the Akron Symphony, and the Cedar Rapids Symphony. I have played electric violin in a rock band and I love experimenting with other styles of music. I served 4 years on the board of directors for the San Diego Musician's Union. I have performed on many movie scores, including "Legally Blonde II" and "Freaky Friday." I have also had the privilege to play with such amazing musicians as Andrea Bocelli, Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, and Smokey Robinson to name a few.I feel very fortunate to live in such an amazing city and make a living doing what I love. People who live life to the fullest inspire me and I am a very passionate person myself. I'm into taking chances and risks and occasionally making a fool of myself! I definitely think we can use more laughs in this world. I have a feisty 8 year old son who I adore and two huge Ragdoll cats, Machu and Picchu. Life is good!

A great day!
