The Camilo Project is a Boston based group, which started creating music together in 2006. Producer, Jason “Camilo†Margaca and vocalist Mark Foley, met as juniors in High School in 1999. Jason grew up listening to the sounds of New Age and Cape Verde dance music, and began to take ..boards at the age of 13. Once perfecting his craft, he had begun to dwell into the production side of music. He started producing and writing instrumental songs throughout High School and College. With his love for Southern hip hop music commencing by mid 2002 and 2003; Jason began writing and recording with local Boston rappers. While early recordings appeared to be a hint of impeccability, reality soon struck hard. Recording sessions were turning into late night drug deals and ultimately culminating into violence and death. After losing all hope in music, Jason went on a 3-year hiatus, and taking his hand in stand up comedy. Howbeit, his love for music was too real, so he refined his sound and found a new connection. That connection was met in 2006 with longtime friend Mark Foley.Mark, grew up with aspirations of being a Radio DJ, with a strong love and soul for music, that dream became a reality and established himself as a DJ for a Boston HD Radio Station, which he would later part from in 2008. Nevertheless music was in his blood, Mark was always around musicians; and after taking on a side photography gig for his sisters band Oddway for their month long U.S. Tour in 2007, his goals and views of life took on new meaning.Jason Margaca and Mark Foley embarked on their musical journey in early 2006, and began free styling over raw and unmixed beats. These early freestyle recordings shaped into what would soon become the group's first recorded song "Uptight". At that point, the group knew they had found a style so unique and innovative, that with the addition of vocalist Petrina Foley, they began to record their self-titled debut album in the summer of 2007. The album, which was recorded and produced by Jason “Camilo†Margaca, was then mixed by Sean McLaughlin (Maroon 5, 2Pac & Evanescence) for 37’ Productions and released in October 2008. The Camilo Project fuses together a mixture of hip-hop, rock, and harmonic melodies. Combined with the diverse musical backgrounds of each of its members, the group's style has created a brand new genre in of itself.2009, is shaping up to be a big year for The Camilo Project; as the group prepares to follow up the success of their first Music Video "Midnight Lover" with two more video releases for the songs "Breathin'" and "Tired Of Being Lonely". Alongside the release of the two music videos, the group will be putting together a band as they gear up for a heavy schedule of shows, in support of their self- titled debut(Bio: Adam Aiello & Mark Foley)
