I was the PREMEIRE live ROCK, METAL, PUNK AND ALTERNATIVE club in south florida and my success, infamy and legend lives on and has not been touched or duplicated since my inception!
I was created in 1984 by Crazy Greg Newell, the Father of Spring Break and named after the club he created called The Button on the Beach on FT Lauderdale Beach.
The reputation of the Button on the Beach - the hardcore partying, driking and debauchery - was kept intact as well as brought to a whole 'nother level, was fueled by the BEST free pouring, rockin' bartenders, the best damn DJ's mixing rock, metal, punk, goth and alternative music, along with all the bands that ROCKED TILL 6AM.
And like the Agora before me, I kept the local music scene breathing with some bands that went on the national and worldwide success like Marylin Manson, Saigon Kick, The Mavericks, The Kids, Cryer, Rock City Angels, Tuff Luck, Slyder, Juliet, - the Slammie Awards - more bands will be updated!
