About Submental:
The vision behind Submental Records, is to establish an open and progressive environment for artists that want to create and perform experimental music.
Departing from a wide range of sources of inspiration, based on Organic Hiphop, Electronica, Jazz, Rock and Experimental, we are attempting to bridge the gap between these subcultures, and so create a network of musicians with an alternative approach to both the creation of, as well as the purpose of music in general.
Submental Records is a contrast to contemporary record companies who tend to look upon music more as an industrial product, than an artform.
We are a group of artists that want to make music with our hearts, clear of the usual commercial restrictions on creativity.
In other words, we are people who want to challenge ourselves freely at a (sub)mental level.
