About Me

TEPPO HUDSON
VJs may hear sound in colours, while DJs may see colours in sound. What the ear registers can affect what the eye beholds.
"The Mastermixer” TimeOut London
He is the oddball within the live visuals scene, directing visuals with a depth of musical and visual experience. Just 4 years ago Teppo Hudson was a rock star touring European wide and recording for EMI. “The tours took me from small fungi covered stage in Hull to sold out 4000 capacity venue in Berlin. We were very much living our dream and very charged to tell the audience about our values”.
During the time Teppo ended up studying Arts Management in London, aiming to philosophically understand reasons for arts to exist. “For me visual arts have always been about the message and philosophy, not what media you use. I realised that I could not archive what I wanted through music, though the energy in music was what I wanted”. This led Teppo Hudson to begin a 2 years research project, in order to understand the visual side of music.
The research resulted in his Crossover of Senses platform, in which he invites VJs to play with DJs. Result is an immerse crossover of audio-visual senses. When Teppo arrived to the VJ scene, his strong musical background helped in understanding the sound in colors. “VJing is basically like playing music, but you just use colors and shapes instead of melodies and rhythm”.
Teppo’s big break came when Pete Tong commissioned live visuals for his Global Cool project about the climate change. Consequently Ministry of Sound agreed for a monthly performance at the club. Stirring the clubbing scene, his Crossover of Senses nights are spearheading a new standard in VJ productions. “I will not stop until every single DJ understands the importance of visuals in our modern AV-society. Music is the reason people dance, but for a full on experience you need to see colors in sound. That is were the VJ art steps in, and takes clubbing to the next level”.
For 10 years Teppo Hudson has been on working professionally in the arts, at 28 he remains one of the most interesting character in the scene. "In a long run, I'm aiming to combine art disciplines to create, maybe not a new, but a much deeper way of channeling thoughts with a combination of music, film and visual arts. In the process hopefully I'll be able to give hope, relief, aesthetic, information and good feelings to countless number of people. That is the beauty of arts".
