Currently i am playing drums with THUNDERCHILD a band i have been involved with on and off for 20 years. I started drumming as soon as i could hold a pair of sticks and appeared on stage first at about age 9. Was in working bands from 10 0r 11ish although some venues would not allow me to appear as i was too young. As with most musicians at that time I played in Show bands ,which is a great way to learn your trade ,getting paid while learning ,good way to go. When I was 13 or 14 I heard Rory Gallagher live and the seed was set for me ,I no longer wanted to play country or pop music I wanted to play Rock. However I didn't get the chance until I started (proper) work , and then took the decision that I could now afford to play what I wanted and not what my paymasters wanted. So from I was 17yo I have mostly played drums in various Rock and Blues bands, although I unfortunately did sell myself for money and played guitar and sang in a 2piece set up for about 4 years good money but I never enjoyed playing. So I am now enjoying myself playing with Thunderchild again,I think we are a better band now than we were in the 80s, I think we play more as a unit now and play for each other rather than for ourselves.The music that you hear on this site has been written and played by myself using a boss digital 64 v track machine which means i can play all the guitar parts myself the drums are built in so i just program those in the final mix stage, it's a bit bad of me as a drummer but the time factor for me to record real drums couldn't be done these songs are not the finished product rather they are ideas to be worked on these are just demo's.The songs I am writing at the moment is the reason for this site, these songs may or may not be played by Thunderchild in the future. if you like them or if you don't , please let me know . I will change the songs every so often I have written 22 new ones in the last few months so by the time you listen to these ones there may be a few more written. THUNDERCHILD We play a mix of old school rock and metal covers from the 80s, as well as our own original material. The covers are mostly from the 80s era, bands such as Whitesnake,Thin Lizzy DIO,Black Sabbath,Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Guns & Roses and Saxon to name a few.
