Biography
With almost 20 years of experience in the music and entertainment industry Jay Stanley has built an impressive list of credits. His resume includes thetitles Billboard #1 songwriter, producer, composer , engineer, sound designer, studio owner , pro tools operator, and independent record label president .Jay began his career as a musician and songwriter and after attending Boston’s prestige’s Berklee College of Music in the 1980’s and getting a specializeddegree in music production and engineering from Full Sail Center for the Recording Arts in 1990.After graduating in 1990, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as Recording Engineer and Music Producer. Jay’s time in LA allowed him to work in worldclass recording studios on many different types of projects, post production audio and sound design for film and television including Warner Brothersanimated series Animaniacs, Tiny Toons and Batman, and record projects for Major Artists with Platinum Producers and Engineers including “ The Rippingtons “Grammy nominated record “Curves Ahead’. The LA experience really helped to develop his talents as an accomplished sound designer, engineer and producer andto provide an impressive credit list to his resume.After returning to the Central Florida area in the early 1990’s, Jay was employed as a sound effects designer at Soundelux where he continued to buildcredits on feature films, television, theme park and video game audio projects. In 1993 Jay met aspiring songwriter Rob Thomas {Matchbox20) and the twodeveloped a professional relationship which resulted in the co-writing of 26 songs and the formation of the band “Tabitha’s Secret†the first incarnation ofwhat would later become Matchbox20. Jay’s collaboration with Rob spawned the Billboard # 1 song “3am†which spent ten weeks at # 1 on the billboard adult top40 charts, sold over 15,000,000 copies and garnered Jay ASCAP POP music awards for most performed song of 1999 and 2000.In 2001 The band CREED spent 4 months recording and mixing their multiplatinum CD "Weathered" at Jay's studio ( J. Stanley Productions ). The CD would debutat Billboard #1 position and sell over 6 million copies...in 2005 SEVENDUST would spend 2 months tracking their CD " NEXT " at J. stanley productions...Currently Jay is President of his own company formed in 1999 J. Stanley Productions Inc.
