BIOGRAFIA

Gabriela Yaya nace y realiza sus estudios musicales en Córdoba. Ha participado en varios conciertos en Argentina, Colombia, Italia, Francia, España y Holanda tanto individualmente como con trabajos realizados con distintos artistas.
Ha tomado parte en numerosos proyectos interdisciplinarios: cortometrajes, documentales, instalaciones, obras de danza, sonorizaciones y multimedias.
Obtuvo entre otros, el premio de residencia del 29º Concurso Internacional de Música Electroacústica y Arte Sonoro de Bourges, Francia, para realizar la misma en el LIEM-CDMC, Madrid. También obtuvo el primer premio en el Concurso Universitario de Composición Electroacústica, organizado por la Universidad Nacional de Quilmes, premios y menciones en distintas ediciones del "Foro y Concurso" organizado por el Goethe Institut y becas gubernamentales para realizar viajes de estudio y producción.
De su actividad docente, el proyecto "Escenas y Sonidos de mi Ciudad” realizado por alumnos de nivel medio del Colegio Herbert Diehl, bajo su coordinación, mereció el reconocimiento y fue premiado por UNESCO Digiarts para participar del ISEA (International Symposium of Electronic Arts) 2006 – ZeroOne San José, USA.
Forma parte del equipo docente del seminario "El Sonido y su relación con otras disciplinas artísticas" a cargo del Lic. Gonzalo Biffarella en la Escuela de Artes de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba.
En este momento, aparte de desempañarse como docente de Educación Artística, Historia de la Música y Conjunto Instrumental, forma parte del proyecto de enseñanza musical con nuevas tecnologías, procesamiento digital del sonido, lenguaje y estética de la música electroacústica para el nivel medio del Colegio Maestro Diehl.

Gabriela Yaya was born in Córdoba, Argentina on September 13th 1975. At the age of 8 she begans her musical studies in the conservatory of music "Félix T. Garzon" in Córdoba. There she studied piano until 5th year. Over the next years she participates in several groups of popular and chamber music. She attempts to different seminaries and courses with professors as : M. Perini (Harmony and Composition), J. L. Campana (mixed works, instrument and electroacoustic), A. Nuñez, J. Berenguer, Gonzalo Biffarella (composition and electroacoustic), Gustavo Alcaraz (electroacoustics technics and composition), Graciela Castillo (composition), Mónica Gudemos (history and Analysis).
She has composed original works for art performances, installations, expositions, sound tracks for fictional and documentary short films among others. Over the last years she has experimented with real time experiences. Her works are performed in Argentina, France, Spain and Holland, Colombia. Currently she is finishing her studies as Professor and Composer at the U. N. C. (National University of Córdoba).
She has been awarded whit the Bourges Prizes in 2002 given by IMEB France for her 1st electroacoustic piece “Patio”, 1st prize in the Concurso Universitario de Composición Electroacústica, given by Universidad Nacional de Quilmes , Argentina, and two mentions in the Foro de Música Electroacústica” given by the Goethe Institute (Córdoba 2001 – 2003). She also has received a scholarship given by the Secretaria de Cultura, Presidencia de la Nación “Internacional Program of Artists, Technicians, Scientists and Professionals of Culture”.
She worked en Center for the Diffusion of Contemporary Music, Madrid. (2003) Now at days she is working in a project of teaching music (to children between 12 and 15 years) through contemporary technologies using electroacustical language and methods in the Colegio Maestro Diehl in Córdoba. The project “Scenes and Sounds of my city” made it in this institution, was awarded by Unesco Digiarts, to participated en the ISEA (International Symposium of Electronic Arts) 2006 – ZeroOne San José, USA.
She also worked as education officer in the The Sound in Relationship with others Arts Disciplines (2006-07), and actually works in Experimental Music (2008), subjects of the Composing career of the National University of Cordoba.
