About Me
Born from the crossover of the Gothic Music ( Type O Negative) and a more extreme Metal ( Cradle Of Filth, Dimmu Borgir), HORRESCO REFERENS s music finnaly reached to be a one of a kind music, we use to call : Lust-Metal. Which is an extremely sensual Metal, dark and charming, that leads you where unexpected mixes gives fascinating results.
Leaded by Rash, the mainman of the project, HORRESCO REFERENS starts the complex songwriting of the concept of Lust-Metal, where our deepests instincts and our moral are opposed . The first chapter is delivered in 1999, with the very first album « The Cesspit », produced by Stéphane Buriez ( Black Bomb A, Anorexia Nervosa, X-Vision). Quickly the band plays in foreign countries : Belgium, Spain and Portugal are naturally infected by the poisonnous music of the band. The band is invited to open the shows of notorious bands such as SUP, Notre-Dame ( Swe), Loudblast or Coroner (Swi) and plays in several fests among Katatonia, Tankard, Finntroll, etc
In 2003, Scal & Rash give all they had concealed in their heart of hearts in the second full length album « of our souls. ». Published by Anvil Corp. (Wagram Distribution), this new album is very well marketed in France and outside the frontiers, you can even find it in Russia ( CD-Maximum). Sorrowfull, intense and true hearted , This second opus doesnt leave the press flawless : « The band successfuly create ane insane music with a sick a psychotic atmosphere » (Rock Hard) , « Of Our Souls have everythin to please any metal head» (Hard Rock Magazine), « Musicaly, Horresco Referens is really skilled, the band make us travelling by alternating brutal blasts and melodic shores. » (Hard NHeavy)
Slowly the audience increases, gigs after gigs, allowing the band to perform everywhere in the country, Rash and his mates gives powerful and sensitive show, leading the audience to a travel in our deepest feeelings from bitterness and hatred to dedication and lust. A particular link between the audience and the band starts to grow in strenght because of the true hearted attitude of the musician, completely devoted to their music, as they were in a trance.
And to proove how deep is their love and their respect to their female audience, HORRESCO REFERENS decide to make it first video. The chosen track is « Purity Of Sex » from the second album « of our souls. » And they choose Cédric Le Men (Kaeron, Lacrimosa) to direct it. This video is just a little widow to the eerie concept of Lust-Metal. More than a simple orgy, its an explanation of the philosophy that lies behind the concept. The final result showed in three « premiere » during early july 2005, gathered around the fantastic filming crew a lot of journalists from Metal and Erotic Press and a mob of fans of the band here to celebrate this first brilliant video. For this fall, the band is about to release « Deus Sex Machina », this 3 track EP will contain the video of « Purity Of Sex » in order to share it with their fans! By this way, all lust-metallers could wait in serenity the achievement of the third opus that gets deeper within the heart of the soul.
