Freedom or Death
InPDUM Campaigns Uncle Sam is the Real Terrorist FREE THE LIBERTY 7 On June 22nd, 2006, 7 young African men (known as the Liberty City 7) were arrested by U.S. federal agents after a sweep made in a warehouse in Liberty City, FL. that was suspected to be a training ground for a “terrorist group”.
The state claims the arrests were a result of a months long undercover operation facilitated by an undercover agent posing as an “Al Qaeda operative”.
The LC7 – also known as Narseal Batiste, Patrick Abraham, Burson Augustin, Stanley Grant Phanor, Naudimar Herrera, Lyglenson Lemorin and Rotschild Augustine – all from Liberty City – are being charged with a plot to launch attacks on the Sears Tower in Chicago and planning to "wage war against the United States government”.
The International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement believes that this group of poor and exploited African men known as the Liberty City 7 - are nothing more than 7 victims of terrorism inflicted on the entire African population throughout the world. From Liberty City, FL to Port Au Prince, Haiti – African people are trapped in abject poverty and ignorance and brutalized by U.S. sponsored military police forces. We believe that it is not only natural but it is just for the oppressed to hate their oppressor and plan for its timely demise.
Furthermore, there is no basis for the accusations made by the state against the LC7. These brothers were reported to have shown no capacity (economic or otherwise) to launch any attack – nor has it been proven that they were ever involved in such discussion. What has been proven is that the U.S. government is moving in a true to form dictator-like fashion – with no regard for its own laws.
InPDUM stands in support of the Liberty City 7 and calls on all lovers of freedom and social justice to unite with the following DEMANDS:
The immediate release of the Liberty City 7.
Reparations to the families of the Liberty 7 for emotional, physical and psychological trauma inflicted by this ordeal.
An international press conference held by all major media denouncing all slanderous comments made of the Liberty City 7 – including accusations of terrorism and criminals.

FREE SHAQUANDA COTTON! Shaquanda Cotton, an African girl who, in March 2006, at the age of 14, was sentenced to 7 years (an indeterminate time not to exceed her 21st birthday) in the Texas Youth Commission's juvenile detention facilities for allegedly shoving a hall monitor at her high school in Paris, Texas Creola Cotton, Shaquanda’s mother, is a political activist in Paris. She began filing complaints against school administration when her own children were being mistreated in the schools. She along with her long time friend, Brenda Cherry then began an organization called Concerned Citizens for Racial Equality (CCRE). Together, they would defend countless African children who were being terrorized in the schools. During Shaquanda’s trial, it became clear that Shaquanda was being persecuted for her mother’s political activism and that government in Paris, TX wanted to teach them both a lesson. During the trial, the DA made reference to Shaquanda’s mother and her political beliefs. At one point, he referred to her home as “revolutionary” and “racial”. Due to this colonial injustice, Shaquanda’s right to political belief and free speech was thrown out the window and she was found guilty and sentenced to 7 years in prison But the People Fought Back! On March 20th of 2007 political activists from throughout the region organized a march on the Paris Courthouse. Because of the attention the march brought onto her case, the state was forced to release Shaquanda after serving 1 year of her 7 year sentence. Although Not In Jail, Shaquanda is still in Bondage! On July 6, 2007 a court in Texarkana, Texas denied the people’s appeal of her conviction, giving the state the legal right to put her back behind bars. Part of the fundamental struggle her family and supporters have been making is that Shaquanda is completely exonerated of any charges and her conviction be overturned. This is why we must DEFEND SHAQUANDA AT ALL COSTS!
InPDUM is calling on all freedom loving people to support the "Hands off Shaquanda Cotton Campaign"! You can do so by: Participating in an international boycott of public schools, consolidate a local Shaquanda Cotton Defense Committee in your area, set up a tour date for Shaquanda Cotton and InPDUM in your city!
