About Me

It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." ************************************************************ ************************************************************ *****************"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."Bobby - age 7 (Wow!) ____________________________________________________________ ____ Jeff aka Jinks , was born and reared in the foothills of the appalachian mountains in southern Ohio. Althought he grew up around music , Jeff never got interested. As a teen Jeff hear the Beatles and following the other kids joined in , in the excitement of the age. 2 Christmass after the Beatles hit the states, Jeff asked for an eletic guitar. it took years before Jeff became any good at playing his guitar, but time and practiced helped. When Jeff joined the Air Force in the 70's he heard the Mountain Dulcimer for the frist time. Jeff was asked to play with a "Jug Band" Jeff was stationed in North Carolina, when asked to play with a band forming at the Arts Center in Goldboro. Althought the girl only played a few tunes on her Dulcimer, Jeff fell in love with sound , but it would be years before Jeff got one for himself. Attending an Arts Show in Huntington , WVa. Jeff came across a Mountain Dulcimer he liked and took it home, where over time he learne to play. The style that Jeff now plays , came by him attending a Mountain Dulcimer contest in Mountain View , AR in the early 90's, Jeff came away with an awe for the people he had seen playing with chords and the sounds they were getting from the Mountain Dulcimer. Jeff took the music and styles he had seen and tryed his hand at playing . The next year jeff entered the contest and played the contest til 2006 when Jeff called it quits. Jeff says the contest help him to be a better playing but driving him to learn new things and tunes on the Mountain Dulcimer. Jeff, still works to improve his p[laying skills and get the most from every song.
