BIOGRAPHY
A band lives with many foils; the constant struggle for purpose in what is loosely termed “indie rockâ€, the day to day financial struggle between passion and a money pit “indiestry,†and the struggle to endure despite the echoic voices of reason singing them to sleep each night.Alice’s Adventures is far too busy discussing typography, sheep and color schemes to let reality bother them. The quartet of 20-something design and computer nerds take the stage each night to paint the city skyline and countryside for their ever-growing fanbase.
Since 2005 Alice’s Adventures has worked tirelessly to develop a sound, a philosophy and identity to what they take so seriously. Over time, they allowed their fate to be revealed to them as an innovative band brimming with talent and potential. In March of 2008 they entered the studio with producer Vince Ratti (Bury Your Dead, Marigold, Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer) to record their first EP. The result is a stable, yet frantic array of saturated drums (Kingma) bass lines (Riedel) and keyboards married to swirling guitars and the distinct harmonic vocals of Andy States and Andy Colosimo. The band expressed their need for experimental rock and the Andy’s covered more emotional ground than they are willing to admit.
It’s taken several years, hundreds of shows, and a lifetime of singing and strumming to make a six-song EP a reality. While the record is garnering more and more interest each day, raising the eyebrows of acquaintances Circa Survive and several of Pennsylvania’s notable indie rockers, Alice’s Adventures is humbly sowing the seeds of their genre, braving fires and floods, and gazing at the skyline.
