Dominic Carlton Jones started out with his own material around 2004, after having being able to play guitar since the age of 16.
He never really saw himself as a guitarist but more a songwriter and believed his songs to be good and worthy to be heard, which fired his aspiration on to gigging and recording.
He teamed up with promoter Ria Bright who landed him various gigs in and around Manchester. Since then he has played a number of successful gigs and earned accolades through his performances,including slots at the Embryo events at The Kings Arms In Salford.
.He has played reguarly at the Castle hotel including a featured artist spot there which was a success and encountered a good scene there with other good musicians before it's recent demise.There exists a major difference between the recordings you hear on this page and his live performances which are brimming with grit and beauty.This is a man who ventures to the innards of the soul, sometimes intense,sometimes beautiful but always delivers songs of high emotive quality.
Recently he has managed to enlist the services of four collaborators and took them into his Sunday roast gig which was a success.What transpired was a highly eclectic mix of talents performing under the same banner.Dark and uplifting,Sweet Melodies and delicious harmonies.Acoustic bass,other guitars,Female Vocals,Tambourine.A continuous shifting of sound and mood.I thank the very different talents of George Jerome,Max Gattie,Andy Murray and Gemma Jerome and see this combination as a sign of things to come.Two gigs down the line and it is clear to see that the Andy murray,Gemma Jerome axis is the best chemistry here and I will be looking to develop it.It conjures up the very essence of the punk,post/punk spirit with strong visual lyrics,juxtaposition of vocals and roving,penetrative guitar lines.We are seeking a name!Gemma,who does vocals puts it in the genre of post modernist buddhist punk!How about that and would welcome you to come and see us.We will throw you out of all your complacency,grab you and suggest alternatives.catch us at the Harpurhey Community project on november 6th!
