You'd be hard pressed to find a band in the thrash camp that polarizes metal fans like this southern German troop. Freddy, Axel, Andi and Jogi dedicated themselves to thrash metal over 25 years ago. The path of these 4 guys has been anything but an easy one. Their band history has often been a rocky, craggy road full of hard knocks – something every Necro fan has noticed over the years.
But how does it go again: you have to roll with the punches!
And this band does have one thing: balls and staying power and more than anything authenticity.
That's the only way to explain that a really big fan community worldwide has dedicated themselves with heart and soul to this band. And these guys appreciate it.
The fact is NECRONOMICON has always gone their own way musically. They've never denied the roots of punk. There's always been a big reception from the metal underground. Bands like GBH, Exploited or Discharge are still in the hearts and ears of these guys. More than anybody, Axel lets that come through unmistakably on the drums.

In 2007 they recorded the long player “Revenge of the Beast” out of their own pocket. Once it was re-produced, mixed and mastered by Guru Achim Köhler it became a damn jackhammer!
But they didn't just leave it at one production:
Out of thanks and respect to the fans, NECRONOMICON produced “Revenge of the Beast” on their own a second time - in the style of the 80's. It was all done in Temple Studio with Oliver Noack and NECRONOMICON and sounds like it – raw and brutal. Both productions are being released together on a special edition for the 25th anniversary.
Like in all the years past, “Revenge of the Beast” clearly displays the workmanship of front man Freddy. On the one hand, in your face (hard, straight riffs and Freddy's unmistakable voice) and on the other the piece surprises with the typical musical fine points that shape this band today and make it impossible to pigeonhole – pure NECRONOMICON!
Freddy had some help from Andi who fine tuned the guitar solos on this production and pummeled in the bass.
NECRONOMICON separated from the last record company in 2007 again because the desired success wasn't there. So now what?
They pulled out all the stops. Had loads of talks and negotiations. Had some good but also some less positive experiences until they reached a decision.
NECRONOMICON has signed with the Spanish label “Xtreem Music” where the guys have the full backing, attention and respect for their work. Dave Rotten, the owner of “Xtreem Music” is a die-hard musician himself and has the music - and not only money – in mind. NECRONOMICON hopes for a lot from this cooperation – mostly though for the fans, who will get the new long player “Revenge of the Beast” worldwide.
The most important thing for NECRONOMICON in 2009: to be on stage in Europe and the rest of the world to heat up the metal community.
They'll be presenting the new album for the first time in 3 shows in Russia. Then there's the Release Party in Germany at the Metal Forces Festival. In January they'll be heading to Spain where the new label is headquartered.

Wohl kaum eine andere Band im Thrash-Lager polarisiert so die Metalfans wie die
süddeutsche Truppe. Freddy, Axel, Andi und Jogi haben sich vor nunmehr 25 Jahren dem Thrashmetal verschrieben. Der Weg dieser 4 Jungs ist alles Andere als ein Selbstläufer:
In ihrer Bandhistorie war es oft ein steiniger, mitunter sehr felsiger Weg voller Nackenschläge, was jeder NECRO-Fan über die Jahre hinweg mitbekommen hat.
Aber wie heißt es so schön: Nur die Harten kommen in den Garten!
Und eines hat diese Band: Eier und Durchhaltevermögen, vor allem aber Authentizität.
Nur dadurch ist es zu erklären, dass eine große Fangemeinde weltweit dieser Band ihr Herzblut verschrieben hat. Und das wissen die Jungs zu schätzen.
Fakt ist auch, NECRONOMICON ging musikalisch immer eigene Wege. Man verleugnete nie die Wurzeln des Punk. Schon immer kam großer Zuspruch aus dem Metal Underground. Bands wie GBH, Exploited oder Discharge sind noch heute in den Herzen und Ohren der Jungs. Vor allem Axel lässt das unüberhörbar an der Schießbude erklingen.
2007 nahm man den Longplayer „Revenge of the Beast“ auf eigene Kosten auf. Einmal mehr produziert, gemischt und gemastert von Guru Achim Köhler wurde es ein Dampfhammer vor dem Herren!
Doch man beließ es nicht nur bei einer Produktion:
Aus Dankbarkeit und Respekt gegenüber ihren Fans produzierte NECRONOMICON „Revenge of the Beast“ im Stile der 80er in Eigenregie ein zweites mal. Das Ganze fand im Temple Studio mit Oliver Noack und NECRONOMICON statt und klingt dementsprechend rau und brutal. Beiden Produktionen erscheinen zusammen auf einer Sonderedition zum 25-jährigen Jubläum.
Wie all die Jahre zuvor trägt „Revenge of the Beast“ die klare Handschrift von Frontmann Freddy.
Einerseits voll auf die 12 (harte, gerade Riffs und die unverwechselbare Stimme von Freddy) andererseits überrascht das Teil mit den typischen musikalischen Feinheiten, die diese Band heute prägen und sie von jeglichen Schubladendenken ausschließt; NECRONOMICON eben!
Unterstützung bekam Freddy von Andi, der vor allem den Guitarrensoli dieser Produktion den Feinschliff gibt und den Bass eingegeprügelt hat.
Von der letzten Record-Company trennte man sich 2007 wieder, da der persönlich erwünschte Erfolg nicht da war. Wo geht diesmal die Reise hin?
Es wurden alle Register gezogen. Viele Gespräche und Verhandlungen geführt. Wieder gute, aber auch unschöne Erfahrungen gemacht, bis man jetzt die Entscheideung getroffen hat.
NECRONOMICON unterschreibt beim spanischen Label „Xtreem Music“, wo die Jungs volle Rückendeckung und die Aufmerksamkeit und den Respekt für ihr Schaffen bekommen.
Dave Rotten, Inhaber von „Xtreem Music“ ist selbst eingefleischter Musiker und hat somit sicherlich auch die musikalische Denkweise und nicht nur den wirtschaftlichen Gedanken im Fokus. NECRONOMICON erhofft sich sehr viel von der Kooperation - vor allem aber für die Fans, die weltweit den neuen Longplayer „Revenge of the Beast“ erhalten werden.
Das wichtigste Ziel von NECRONOMICON 2009: Auf den Bühnen in Europa und dem Rest der Welt der Metalgemeinde einzuheizen.

In Russland hat NECRONOMICON das neue Album schon auf mehreren Konzerten live präsentiert. Im November 2008 kam dann das Farewell-Konzert von Jogi auf dem „Metal Forces Festival“ in Lörrach. Jogi wird die Band nach zweieinhalb Jahrzehnten wegen seiner Gehörprobleme (Tinitus) nun endgültig verlassen. Mit Alex hat man den neuen 4. Mann an Bord der schon in Russland den Fans einheizte. Im Januar geht's für mehrere Konzerte nach Spanien, wo ja auch der Sitz des neuen Labels ist.
