About Me
Born and raised in Ã…rhus (1965) with the civil name Henrik Schou Poulsen.
In 1985 I moved to Copenhagen and rented a little flat where the american saxophone player Bob Rockwell practices every day. That was a part of the deal! The same year I joined Thomas Helmig Brothers and that was the beginning of my future freelance-bass career.Besides playing a great number of gigs I’ve been teaching around in Denmark (fx seven years at The Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen), been substitute conductor and bass player in many different TV-shows, making many workshops and clinics and put my bass down on more than 150 records ---------------------------------------------------
From 1998-2007 I also have been a part of a New Orleans inspired blues-rock-jazz-soul-cuba-funk trio SP-JUST-FROST. We have recorded six albums and been touring in Denmark, USA, Switzerland, Germany, Norway and South Korea. -----------------------------Since 1985 I have played live and recorded with many different artists such as: Thomas Helmig, One Two, Sko/Torp, Cowgirls, Poul Krebs, Michael Learns To Rock (Denmark, Thailand, Bahrain, Dubai, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines) Julie Berthelsen (DK, Greenland), Søs Fenger, Tamra Rosanes, Led Zeppelin Jam, Nickname, Maria Montell (DK, Greenland), Karen Busck, Nikolaj Christensen, Ester Brohus, Henning Kvitnes, Jacob Andersen, James Sampson, Nanna, Anne Dorte Michelsen, Jette Torp, Nikolaj Steen, Jeanett Debb, The Twinz, Anette Bjergfeldt, Tordenskjolds Sandaler, Christians Brønds, Band Mrazem, Morten Remar, Stig Skovlind, Ole Friis and the Cat, Carsten Bo & the C Bee Generation, Zoe, Jan Nielsen, Peter Busborg and many others ....................................................... I have been in New Orleans a couple of times, and I have a big Scandinavian rhythm and blues-heart beating for the New Orleans Funk.
